I want to donate my old PC to a local Orphanage what upgrades can I make?
Specs -
AMD athlon 2 x2 245 dual core
Windows 7 (please suggest a Linux based lite OS too)
Power supply 250W 100-127
2GB DDR3 1333 APACERUNB
MCP61P NVIDIA 2 DIM GBLA (NOT SURE WHAT THIS IS LOL)

Install a Linux distro, and donate it as is (as long as it actually runs).
LinuxMint is probably fine on it.

There are no real hardware "upgrades" you can do, without changing the whole thing.

I would donate it like it is without any upgrades. There's no point upgrade only one or two parts. To make it better significantly you will have to upgrade all of it's parts, basically buying new computer. Plus, it will be hard to even find such an old parts.

It's just DDR3 RAM and the drives would be using SATA, both easy to find. Even a faster CPU is not too hard to find. With only 2 gb of RAM and an older drive it will be a big improvement to have a 120 gb ssd and another 2 gb of RAM in it.
