What version of windows 10 is this?

Hello, i recently went on the Microsoft website and downloaded the windows 10 installation tool. Upon installation it asked me what version of windows i prefer and the options were.
Windows 10
Windows 10 home single language
I picked "Windows 10". Now my question is, if i were to buy a product key how am i supposed to know if it'll be home or pro if it just says "Windows 10". Please help

im on my pc right now and it says "this copy of windows is not genuine" (windows 7 professional). And at the bottom right i get a notification that tells me to upgrade to windows 10. If i do this free upgrade will it still ask me for a key on windows 10?

1. Burn a DVD ISO with the Version of your genuine Windows 7.
2. Boot from that DVD
3. Follow Install instructions

If ya use a windows 7 activation tool only works for legacy installs and will work with Windows 10 upgrade heard about some nvme activation that work in uefi but yea a install on the ya ant to upgrade with a legit key the nvme activation even expire

Windows 10 will install but not activate if you upgrade from an unactivated Windows 7. There is no key for the Windows 10 upgrade only the Full pack Windows 10 retail and OEM .

The Windows installation tool is used for the upgrade the upgrade doesn't use keys. It uses digital entitlement which basically creates a unique id for your hardware and stores it on the MS server. So when you go to do an clean install it verifies if that unique ID is on the MS server if it activates Windows. If you buy the retail or OEM that XP and Vista users have to buy there is a key but not for the upgrade.

Might work but 1 percent chance that it doesn't ever deactivate

If it says it is not genuine, you have two options.

1. Call microsoft and try to get it 'genuine'
or
2. Accept the fact that wherever you obtained these gave you a not genuine license key
