[SOLVED] What wattage av receiver to choose?

I currently have a Bose Acoustimass Series V 5.1 speakers and it’s hooked to an Onkyo TX-SR353. The receiver is rated at 80W per channel @8ohms, 2ch driven.
Recommended Power: The Bose AM10 (V) speaker system is compatible with AV receivers and amplifiers rated from 10 to 200 watts per channel, rated from 4 to 8 ohms.
However, now I would like to change this 5.1 setup to 5.2.4 Atmos setup. I bought 4x Harman Kardon SAT-TS7 for the overhead speakers which is rated at 10-80 watts at 8 ohms. I will also be getting the SVS PB2000 pro subwoofer.
Having said, is it safe to use the Denon avc3700h 9.2 receiver rated at 105 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 2ch driven or will they fry the speakers? Also, if it’s safe, then is it also safe to use the Denon avc4700h 9.2 receiver rated at 125 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 2ch driven?

It is generally safe. But that depends on how loud you turn it up. If you run the volume "at 11" then you run a risk. Normal loudness levels shouldn't be an issue.

I get ur point that too loud could fry the speakers. I was guessing this would be the case coz most of the 9 channel receivers had plenty of power. Couldn’t find something below 100 watts. Thank you for the clarity.

Generally speaking, speakers tend to blow more often as a result of distortion than power. You can also damage them with too much power which causes the coils to overhead. I don't suspect this will cause you any issue and agree with @kanewolf in their assessment.

My "at 11" was a reference to the movie "This is Spinal Tap". Google "Spinal tap 11" if you are unfamiliar with the reference....
