what will be best ryzen 5 1600x or ryzen 5 2400g

Solution
Since you have a GPU, Ryzen 2200G is out of the equation. The decision is between
a) 6 Core 12 Thread Ryzen 5 1600X
b) 6 Core 6 Thread i5 8600

Reasons for a) Ryzen 5 1600X
1. Higher multithread performance (about 30% more) at stock, due to SMT and more threads.
2. Ever so slightly cheaper.
3. Is unlocked. If you overclock it might hit 3.8-4.1 GHz, making it much faster than i5 8600 in multi thread, with comparable single thread performance.

Reasons for b) i5 8600
1) Significantly faster single thread performance at stock. Out of the box. (20%)
2) Can be upgraded to K models (if on Z motherboards) and can hit 5.0+ GHz if all conditions are met.
3) Uses slightly less power, 65W vs 95W TDP.

If you overclock, get the Ryzen 1600X and...

With your GPU an overclocked 8700k/8600k seems a little unbalanced. The 4core/8thread i5 8400 has excellent single threaded performance and since I have yet to run into any trouble gaming with a older i7 (same as the new i5) you should be set. You could use that money saved on CPU for some more ram or a new SSD maybe.

If you overclock, get the Ryzen 1600X and overclock. And get great single thread and multi thread performance. The best of both worlds.

If you mainly game, and dont overclock, get the i5 8600. High end single thread performance out of the box allows for high FPS.

If you dont overclock, and mainly do screen recording/download stuff while gaming, get the R5 1600X. More threads allow better multithread performance.

Have a good day.
