My specs:
Ryzen 5800X (just upgraded today from 1800X)
16gb DDR4 2800 Mhz
GTX 1080 MSI Duke edition

Alrighty, consider me a little bit frustrated. My originally gaming system was a Core I5 4670k, 16gb of ddr3 ram (I dont remember the speed), and a GTX 770 Evga superclocked. Back in 2013. I spent about $340 if I am remembering right on 770. Skip forward to mid 2017. I finally upgrade my system to what you see above. I spent $469 to get a 200% increase in performance. Not bad. However I just upgraded my monitor to a 3440x1440 Ultrawide. My 1080 is getting older and is starting to struggle. However I have been out of the game until recently. I have begun looking at video cards again. And it seems now I HAVE TO SPEND OVER 1000 DOLLARS TO GET THAT 200% increase again? WTH happened. What would be a decent upgrade at this point for ultrawide 1440P.

Sorry if this sentence is rambled together...quite tired right now..

Nvidia happened... they saw crypto-miners paying over $1000 to make money with the hardware, and somehow expect gamers to spend the same amount to play games.

I would suggest going with AMD such as the RX 7800 XT or RX 6950 XT for around $500-$650.

*Edit: The RX 7800 XT has a release price of $499. They sold out and are currently unavailable at MSRP.

Well crap, thanks for the info. Also letting you know, I liked how nice your spec sheet layout was on the bottom. I copied it and replaced it with my own. So I guess im essentially going to have to wait for another generation...
