what x370 motherboard should i get

If you have the cash for overclocking go for the Asrock Taichi, MSI carbon or Asus Crosshair.

the Msi carbon is cutting it a little close in my budget anything you recommend $30 or so cheaper, or is the carbon the best you recommend for that price point.

Yes the MSI is pricey, the Asus or Asrock should be a bit cheaper

Id choose either the fatality or the MSI gaming out of these, the Biostar one at that price is a steal though considering it share features with almsot 200 dolla boards

From the motherboards Oldsch00l posted i would choose asus prime x370-pro, it is a steal at that price and it is the only board with 8 sata conectors.

I think 8 sata connectors are irrelevant unless hes RAIDing. The fatality or msi for example have top notch NIC and onboard sound, not sure about that Asus, I know the crosshair has those features, but for 150 hey. Im a 3D video/audiophile yeah I should be using a xonar or recon, but broke lately so I cant stand onboard sound so I choose board with less crappy onboard. I been using a 970 gaming its like the MSI I linked too just AM3+ and am MORE then impressed with the sound card, even has a metal EMI shield. No hissing no crackles, nada, its near perfect.

Asus X370-PRO has a onboard saoundcard with 120 db SNR, one of the most audiophill grade among cheap X370 boards and it is alc 1220A not 1220, this was specially engineered to be superior to other 1220.

Off the record, i m an audiophill too and i have an Xonar U7 soundcard with which i m very happy.
