Okay so I've got everything that I need to start making content except a mic. I've done some looking and I think a USB Condenser mic is probably the best fit for me. It would also be great if it could switch between cardioid, hypercardioid, and supercardioid but it just being cardioid is good enough. I would prefer if it was able to clamp onto my desk since I don't have a whole lot of desk but it being tabletop is fine as long as it's not to big. My budget is about $200 but if I'm being honest I don't know what I should be looking for exactly, in terms of getting the most bang for my buck. So any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated.

More information needed. Are you asking about a camera mounted mic or a desk stand mic or a mic connected to a computer by usb or a mic mixer? There are lots of options for each situation. You would need to identify the mic's polar pattern, mounting type, connector type and every other factor for your planned usage.

Let me know if I need to give anymore info.

You could get something like a Sennheiser Profile Streaming Set which includes all of the components for $200. Otherwise with most mics, like the Rode mics, which are $229 for just the mic, the arm/clamp assembly is another $100. That's why most people go for the desk stand since its so much cheaper. (You should also consider whether or not you're going to have to buy sound dampening wall coverings, so there may be more expenses to come).

Okay thank you for the help and recommendations, I have a lot better idea of what I should be looking for now.
