What's about using pc without UPS

I am from south asia and I'm using kind of high configure pc. In a short i5 8600k, 1060 6gb, mobo aorus z370 gaming 3 and so on.. So these things are powered by cooler master masterwatt 550 bronze. Also I have power surge and another main multiplug which is well custom built. Power is coming through all these things.

Here in my area thunderstorm is very common thing and so for that the transmitter of our area bust out every now and then. So I was thinking is it really necessary to use ups for extra protection? Is the power surge, custom built heavy multiplug and my psu not enough for protection?

Though I was using one ups earlier and that one gave up only after 5 months of using.

Some expert answer will be very helpful. Thanks in advance.. <3

A UPS may over more protection from a power surge (though a poorly built one won't). The primary point of a UPS is to keep the power on after the surge. So you can shut your PC down normally instead of having it suddenly switch off.

That all said if a lightning bolt came down and hit the powerlines right outside your house no UPS in the world would be able to protect your PC from that kind of surge.
