Grrr, just updated to 10.8 from 10.4 a couple of days ago... Idk if i need these anyways since they affect 5870s and below, not 5970s, unless they forgot to list them...

up to 6% on ATI Radeon™ HD 5970 graphics

And has anyone else noticed there's a duplication of the 'Resolved issues highlights' section?

It's funny to me how most recent driver updates from both Nvidia and ATI have updates to Chronicles of Riddick. I just started playing through it and noticed this error yesterday and grudgingly accepted it. Neato.

Well.....actually to your actually.....it's two 5870s with 5850 clocks...bam?

Something though is that I love how AMD does their driver updates....almost like getting a performance present every month.

ATI drivers are so pathetic. I should have stayed with nVidia. Went from a 8800gt to a 4970. The performances improvements aren't worth the problem the drivers gave me. Conflict with video codecs, resulting in BSODs, lack of optimization in new games overall for anything that isn't the LATEST generation of their cards (being the 5*** right now), bad backward compatibility with old games (Can't even play NWN 1 with water reflection turned on [could with the 8800gt without any problems], Dungeon Keeper 2 crashing, etc.), CCC crashing in windows XP...Great cards, bad drivers. But they drivers are a fuel that drive the cards, so if they can't even provide good fuel, what's the point?

[citation][nom]peerer[/nom]when there will be CS 1.6 fix?[/citation]

Never, they only give a damn about the current year's games, and their current generation of cards, everything else is **** for them. If I remember correctly, it wasn't THAT bad before AMD bought them.

I hope they fixed some of the issues from the last updated that screwed up my pc/ I have to restart runtime at least every few days/ video on hulu just stops playing randomly/ I had to lower settings on some of the games because of the flicker... I had to go back to the old driver.

I still see advances in 4xxx cards here and there.

Do you guys want them to concentrate more on the 4xxx & 3xxx series cards and older games (which are, or likely are already optimized) or should they put their time towards relevance?

I do agree I wish they would spend all their time improving 4890 crossfire, however that is selfish. :) I'd prefer they stick to relevance. Software can only go so far.

I can't comment about the bad codecs and super old games though as I have no experience with the 5 series yet. :) Haven't had issues on the HD4k though.
