What's the difference between UDMA mode 2 and 5?

I have the following system:
Abit IS7-E mobo (865PE chipset)
P4 2.4GHZ HT FSB800
2x Corsair Twinx 256MB LL
IDE Primary:
master: WD 80GB WDC WD80BB (Data storage)
slave: Mitsumi CDRW 54x CR48XFTE
IDE Secondary:
master: Maxtor 40GB 6L040J2 (OS and all software)
Now, when I look at the IDE controllers in the Device Manager it says that they are all using UDMA mode 2, should some/all of them use mode 5? I remember that one of them was using mode 5 a while ago when I arranged them differently on the IDE controller, I think it was the Maxtor but I'm not sure.
Thanks for the help!

For everyones erudition:
UDMA-ultra direct memory access
UDMA defines a new protocol for the interface between the hard drive and the computer. It improves upon the ATAPI/EIDE standard by doubling data transfer rates to 33MB/sec, which translates into faster disk reads and writes. For users to take advantage of UDMA, both their system and hard drive must support the protocol. UDMA retains backwards compatibility for previously existing hardware

Wow, thanks a lot, I didn't realize until I saw your link that one of my IDE cables was 40-conductor and not 80. Now every device (except the burner which probably only supports ATA33) is at mode 5 (ATA100)
