Could someone please tell me the difefrence between
PPPoA VC-Mux
and
PPPoA LLC
also..
I've got an adsl connection which i've shared between 4 pcs using a samsung router modem and an 8 port switch.
All is well.... well almost. After a while none of the pcs can connect to the internet. This usually happens after about 20mins of inactivity. resetting the machines works. but if itry to repair the connection ie. by right clicking on the local area connection icon(bottom right hand corner of screen) then selecting repair, i'm told that the ip address could not be re assigned.. subsequently theres' still no internet connection. Although ...the modem shows both lan and adsl connection lights on. also pinging individual machines actually returns an afirmative.
3 of the machines have been formated and reinstalled with windows xp pro and the router/modem has been returned to defaults and reconfigured. the 4th machine runs windows 98se.
