What's the max fps vga and dvi display?

Okay, so can someone explain in a simple version (I only know what fps is) what the max frame rate a monitor with only a VGA and DVI ports can run, consider the fact that I have a killer pc (gtx 1060, i5 7500, 16gb ram). So if my PC can handle a game at 100fps will a VGA or DVI display it?

FPS will not be limited the connection type. Your max resolution and refresh rate may be. I would use DVI if you have to pick between the two. If you want to run a 144hz monitor you will need to use a dual link DVI cable.
