Whats wrong with my audio driver?

I'v been having problems with my audio driver. I download Realtek Ac'97 audio driver from The biostar website becuz that is the driver compatable for my Motherboard. the little speaker icon is up in my bar but still no sound.

Is it muted? Speakers tested with another system? Have everything plugged into the right ports?

I had AC-97 intergrated sound and could never get it to work . Instead of going thru the troubler of shipping the entire system back . I decided to install a PCI sound card . Nowv instead of no sound I have better sound than this intergrated sound would have delivered ! It was inexpensive and easy to install

Iv checked all that iv done EVERYTHING imaginable iv updated rolled back uninstalled and reinstalled i know my speakers dnt work so i use a brand new pair of headphones.

If it's the right drivers, nothing is disabled or in error in device manager, both speakers and headphones don't work in the right port, audio chip could be bad. Would have to get a new sound card in that case.
