AMD ATLHON 64 3800+ 2.4ghz soon to be OCd if i can evere find the right guide to do that

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1600 PRO soon to be X???? ill wait til next year when DX 10 cards come around

My machine is pretty out of the arc now. A 3GHz P4 (S478, don't think it's a Prescott, it does have HT though) with 2GB RAM (DDR400 I think) and an 128MB ATi 9700PRO (old AGP card, running it with a fairly recent release of the Omega "tweaked" ATi drivers). And have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Pro (or something that sounds similar - comes with a big black box that connects to the soundcard. Not sure how good it is by todays HD standards though).

As long as I don't go above 1024x768, don't use AA, and don't crank the AF above 8, it's not too bad.

I know I could do with a newer, faster, more powerful machine, but I'm holding out for now; Waiting to to see what developments come out CPU wise in 2007 from both Intel and AMD, plus my Dad's E6600 system / ATI X1650 doesn't seem to be the most stable of machines and games like Knights of the Old Replublic don't run that well on it (I have read that forcing the game to use only one core makes it run a lot smoother, so will try this the next time I visit my parents).

CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 1.86GHz/1066MHZFSB/2mL2 overclocked to
2.63 GHz w/ stock cooler =)
Video Card: Gigabyte 7900GS 256 GDDR3 w/ Zalman Heatsink

I can run pretty much any game at the highest Res w/ this machine. I love it. just built it actually. I installed fear today and can play with Maximum settings as long as I overclock my video card a little bit.

CPU: Core 2 DUO E6600 @ 2.68 Ghz/1190 FSB/ 4MB L2 cache
Video Card: EVGA 7950 GT 512MB DDR3 PCI-E @ stock

I love the great overclocking capability though I'm more conservative with it.

Yep...that's really nice....e6600+8800GTX! Just wondering though. How will AMD/ATI's card(R600) do this March? Also, according to this article New QuadCores to be released , new quads are coming out. Many might be skipping the dualcore altogether. 8O

Alas, that is not my case  I'll probably still go with the e6600.

I've been running an ATI 9700pro for over four years now, but I just ordered a new eVGA 8800 GTX for my birthday. I should be getting it tomorrow, can't wait! 8)

CPU is the opty 165 @ 2.4GHz, had it at 2.7GHz for a while, but backed it off so I could quite down the case a bit, plus at 2.4GHz I'm able to undervolt it to 1.25V.

The Radeon was great while it lasted, and I'm getting tired of HL2, and running out for new content for it...looking forward to next gen, and I really want to play FSX (which on the 9700pro looks worse than FS2004).

i probably have the most pitiful configuration here right now. celeron 2.66 with a radeon x1300 pci. not pci express mind you, PCI.
