CPU might be a limiting factor for me. Although the X5670 has 6C/12T, it's still only a 3GHz Nehalem and my gaming VM only has 4 threads assigned to it. I could assign more vCPUs to the VM, but I don't think Fallout 4 scales over more than 4 cores anyway. Think of it this way; I'm effectively gaming with an i7-870 with hyperthreading turned off. So I have to be careful with CPU intensive mods.

I do have an i5-3570K gathering dust, but since its summer trying to run both my VM server and gaming PC simultaneously would turn my office into a sauna.

Co-op and multiplayer means I'll never buy it or play it.

Maybe they won't ruin the next Dragon Age.

The X5670 isn't all that bad, at least it's still strong in single thread IPC where skyrim/fallout needs it. There are many trying to play on FX cpus or older FM2+ platforms that are really suffering. At ⅔ the IPC, you've already been kicked in the pants..

I dunno. I played GuildWars for years, as is, and there were plenty of missions in single player that were impossible to do. You really needed multi-player to go to UW. Then GW2 came out and many ppl left, moved on, so now the devs changed the game and introduced upto 8 companions. Wasn't the same.

I can't help but face palm at this comment. It's not about what Bioware wants to do, that's why their best programmers and writers left. It's about EA backing themselves into a corner taking creative freedom away from the devs and writers. This is why they keep failing to meet sales goals, and why top franchises like Mass Effect and Dead Space are being put on hold if not canned. EA is their own worst enemy, and they're too paranoid and greedy to see it.

I've been playing through Starcraft Remastered. The UI and visuals still look dated but considering it's a nearly 20 year game that supports crossplay with the original game in the old client it looks pretty great. It still plays great too. I'm just playing through the story right now and it's surprisingly good.

Steam tells you exactly what the file size is.

Thankx and What's the difference between Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XII-2 it's graphics is different or story? Which one should I play?

Oh yeah, it's a hoot. Kinda hard to avoid killing civvies sometimes when you draw the wrath of a Unidad patrol though. I'm also not liking how it takes forever to unlock decent sniper scopes, and the 416 is still the only assault rifle I can find after unlocking half of them, that can accept a grenade launcher.

I'm only about level 17 after clearing a few provinces though, so I'm barely more than halfway to playing on Tier One mode. It has a few minor flaws and quirks, but it's mostly a good game.

Ive been playing lots of Garry's Mod and H1Z1 KOTK. I recently got Arma 3 so I'm running that. Im kinda excited to see how Assassin Creed origins rurns out.

Ghost Recon Wildlands has over 200 hours on me heh. The PVP was pretty good for Beta. They offered 6 classes, Sniper, Spotter, Artillery Drone, The Tank, Jack of all trades and 1 other. Still under NDA so I can't say much more.

edit: looking forward to Destiny 2 for pc in Oct.

I enjoyed it and I finished it before it got the last of the big patches. I'm disappointed it's not going to get any more single player content.

Yeah those unskippable scenes were annoying as hell. At first you couldn't skip the space travel scenes..that was added in the first patch..those were pretty the first 2 or 3 times. Beyond that you wanted to pull out your hair lol.

Yeah and it doesn't help that space mining is always non consequential. In past games you had to actually travel between planets, and manage fuel and be careful to not draw the wrath of the Reapers. Now it's so casual you could actually stop in the middle of it to grab a cup of coffee without even pausing the game, and suffer no consequences. It's this kind of dumbing down of gameplay that is ruining the series more than the low res faces and shoddy animations.

BTW, I stumbled across this Nexus mod called Shorter Landing and Departure Cinematics. It requires using the Frosty Editor, but is fairly simple to install supposedly. I've seen 39 comments on Nexus with no one but me reporting that the editor does not recognize the mod file when trying to import it.

I was wondering if you could give it a go and let me know if you can get it to work?

After further attempts and searches I found the frosty tools "suite" the mod page links to does not include the mod manager, which is what's needed for installing this mod. However even though I now have it installed with a check mark showing on it under applied mods, I get an error when launching the game via the mod manager. It tries to load the mod, then says "The requested operation requires elevation" (cue U2 LOL).

I assume that perhaps "elevation" means the mod needs to be updated to support the latest patch. I'm running the latest 1.10 version of the game.
