Benchmarks run back to back:
High: 2854, load 11449 ms
Low: 4808, load 11514 ms

Specs:

Core i7 870 @ 2.93 mhz CPU
Evga gtx 460 1gb sc GPU
8gb DDR3 1333 RAM (4gbx2)
Corsair 750w psu

I have nothing overclocked aside from the GPU which came factory OCed so it doesn't really count either

beelphegor,

You should be able to get between 2000~3000 range on low setting if anything get more RAMs if you're going to run 64 bit windows.

ok, thanks, puts my mind at ease :)

If i get a better monitor, do you think I would benefit by going to a higher resolution?

beelphegor,

I'm not sure if you would be benefit from a higher resolution monitor but for sure you can try to play it on high setting. I wish that I have beta access so that I can test it, but no luck of being selected to test out the game. =(

But what I do know for sure is that RAM with good speed will help you improve your benchmark scores. Hopefully the gameplay when it releases. 1 Month to go? =)

Oh shoot i forgot to say that i went went twice the ram. So 4 gigs instead of the two they listed. I just couldn't justify only having two gigs in a computer, didn't make sense to me. I heard that anything more than 4 gigs is a waste though, since most programs don't take advantage of 64bit OS/CPU anyways. Or am I wrong?

4Gbs is more than enough, there are very few titles that actually utilize more than 2Gb's like BF2 and BC2 (among others) where the texture loading takes up most of the resources. If you have 4Gb's then you are good to go, no need to worry about that ;)

Yep like OvrClkr said 4GBs is good enough.

I can give you the results of RAMs at 1600Mhz vs. 2000Mhz. The price was about the same since it was on sale. Gotta love weekends deal. =)

As we all know that Low scores based on CPU mainly and for people with X980 they can get 8000+ on low at about 4Ghz.

My CPU on the other hand is i7 930 and I was able to get 8000+ with DDR3 2000Mhz RAMs, where with 1600Mhz RAMs max out for me at 7400~7500. Noted that I'm not using any tweaking like some other, but just pure OC'd. 4.3Ghz CPU + 2000Mhz RAMs. And if you check my earlier posts you can see the progress up to now.

Ok so I decided even though I dont meet minimum graphics card requirements (GeForce 9600 or better) that I would still post my scores and system specs. so everyone can get an idea of just how much it takes to get 1500+ just to slide by to play this game.

Home Build

Broadway Com Corp. Black Steel Mid ATX Case with Side 240mm Case Fan x1 - Front 120mm Case Fan x1 - Rear 120mm Case Fan x1

AMD Athlon 64 x2 5600+ @ 2.8 GHz (Windsor @ 35 Degrees Celsius 34%/78% Load) (Not Over Clocked) (Air Cooled 120mm Fan with Arctic Silver Thermal Paste)
Corsair Gameing Memory 2GB x2 @ 800MHz Dual Channel with Heatsink
Nvidia 8500 (8400 512MB + 8200 512MB Hybrid SLI Mode) (Detected on Benchmark) (Dedicated RAM)
Western Digital Black Edition 3GB/s SATA 7200 RPM 200GB Hard Drive
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - DirectX 10.1

Windows 7 Index Score: 1.0 - 7.9
CPU 5.9
RAM 5.9
Aero 4.1
GPU 5.3
HDD 5.4

FFXIV Benchmark Score: 0 - 8000+
High 1920x1080 > 150 / Load Time 30611
Low 1280x720 > 300 / Load Time 23611

So I hope this helps anyone at all, I already knew that my system needed an upgrade since it was built 3 years ago. However for moderate games and HD video playback this system does a great job.

My scores are unusually low in comparison to other 5770 HD ran benchmarks.

720p: 2300
1080p: 1300

System:
i7-920 2.66 ghz
5770 HD 875 mhz, 1200 mhz
6 gb ram

Can someone shed some light on this predicament?

hi-rev,

Unless your overclock either your CPU/GPU or both you won't see much of improvement.

You should be able to get i7-920 up to 4Ghz w/o any problem with proper cooling/RAM. Is it D0 stepping by chance?

SPEC Code on the retail box will tell you if it's D0 or C0 stepping. For D0 stepping the code is : SLBEJ
For C0 stepping : SLBCH

Also what clock speed is your RAM? With higher clock RAM speed your score will improve too. 1600 should be good. 2000mhz is where you'll hit higher numbers. But it might not be worth the $ unless you get the RAM on sale price.

Around 875~ was the clock speed that I used for my GTX 480 but that's a totally different card. So comparing them would not be valid.

My i7 is thankfully D0, but I'm still running a stock cooler for now. My ram speed is 1066 mhz. I haven't overclocked anything yet, so are my scores typical for a stock system?

hi-rev,

I guess so. Although I was expect you to get at least 1500 on high, but I'm sure that you will see a lot better scores once you OC your system for what's it worth. After all D0 stepping w/o OC is just a waste =)

Here compare it to my old OC system:
If E6600 at 3.5Ghz with Stock GTS 250 can reach those scores I don't see why your i7 920 / 5770 can't.

E6600 @ 3.5Ghz
250 GTS stock
8GB RAM
Old 10,000RPM Raptor.
Load Time:12,669

High:1972
Low: 2960

notty22,
Is your number for low and high reversed? Just making sure lol.

Here is I got on my nephew's PC, the CPU is bottle for sure.

1080p: 2180
720p: 2150

system is core2 duo 2.2GHz, GTX460 1G. clearly you don't need overclock anything to get more than 2000. your system has some problem. could try change a graphic card first, otherwise motherboard.

I went ahead and used MSI afterburner and brought my GPU's core clock to 950 from 875; I haven't tweaked my memory though. This made one hell of a difference

720p : 4756
1080p : 2715

hi-rev,

Now those numbers are more reasonable lol. Like yanje03 said which I agreed that the first test scores that you had might be some error on your system. But now Since you tweak a bit of juice out of that 5770 you see what I mean about the improvements lol.

I'm glad it works out for you.

notty22,

925 clock damn that's nice. My 480 hit the wall at 900...

What is your voltage for 925?

notty22

Just playing with it for a few this afternoon, it looks like 935/1050 is what the max will be.
The voltage goes up or down more or less in increments. I'm using MSI AB 1.61 and the default voltage was .987 at halfway point it shows 1.087~ currently I can't get it any higher.

At higher frequencies it screen freezes then recovers, have not had it soft reboot yet.

It idles at 26c ! (near ambient) Max I've seen is 63c. It seems to not be effecting my H50 at all.

Just Cause 2 my frame rates , with same settings (o/c 4770), went from 50 to 93.
3D06 Went from 17800- 23655

sweet upgrade ;)

with a bit more tuning and better drivers you should be able to get at least 950, I have a buddy from Steam that got his cyclone to 975/1065 so that's why I asked.

It seems my 5770 only likes to stay at 950 mhz for its core clock. Anything higher is too unstable, which is a bit of a let down.

Q8200@2.33ghz quad with a radeon 3450 with 4 gb ram and win vista 32 bit gave me an awesome:
Low: 421
High: 393

Then I changed the graphic card to a gtx 465 and got:
Low: 1530
High: 690

And that got me really mad :fou: and so i to install win 7 64 bit, boosted the ram to 8 gb and changed the cpu to Q9650@3ghz and got:
Low:4412
High: 3870

And now im overclocking da gpu as to 800/1600/1900 and got:
Low:4903
High:4332
:bounce: 750$ for a 1000% increase, gawd and its running starcraft 2 at Ultra without any lag ._. jeeze i sooo woulda wasted cash getting the i7 980 like my friends told meh :na:

Load times are always fluctuating between 10k and 15k

not bad for a cheap computer i bought used for 300$ last year, epic dell motherboard still didnt blow up
