Damn... I know I had a CD from Wildside, but having just gone through my collection I can't seem to immediately find it....

That's really cool. Not many know about this old Glam Metal band, but I'm glad to hear you had a CD as well. Early 80's Glam Metal scene was pretty dope, but there were so many bands at that time, that It created an addictive atmosphere, and slight confusion as well.

WILDSIDE was a lesser-known band, despite being a major Glam Metal/Hair Metal act. Other GLAM bands which I like include the following.

TRIXTER, LA. GUNS, Mother Love Bone, WINGER, RATT, Dangerous Toys, EZO, Faster Pussycat, CINDERELLA, TESLA, Danger Danger, Britny Fox, KIX, POISON, Beau Nasty, Bad English.....and many others.

Some tracks from TRIXTER band. Love the vocalist.

Yeah, it was pretty interesting . . I discovered them in the mid-90s, there was a website literally called "Bob's Hard Rock and Heavy Metal" page . . and he had various samples of songs from albums, along with his own description, and what he liked about them, etc.

The samples were in .ra files, if I recall correctly. Man, I'd almost forgotten about RealAudio.

The clip was from Heart and Soul, off the album Under The Influence. Which weirded me out because Overkill has an album of the same name.

That clip was what made me decide to buy the album.

Had to go digging to remind myself . . but someone uploaded the album to YouTube.

Still, I usually keep VERY good track of my discs, this is really bothering me now that I can't find it!

In case you didn't know, "Mama, I'm Coming Home" is about Ozzy's wife, Sharon. They met when her father, Don Arden, was managing Ozzy's group Black Sabbath. After they married, Sharon bought out Ozzy's contract and became his manager. Known for her tenacity, business acumen and for always looking out for Ozzy, she established Ozzfest, which brought metal to the masses.

Ozzy wrote this song with his guitarist, Zakk Wylde. In the liner notes for the 1997 compilation The Ozzman Cometh, he wrote, "I had been walking around with the melody in my head for a couple of years but never got a chance to finish it until I was working with Zakk on the No More Tears album. At that time Zakk and I were doing a lot of writing on the piano. 'Mama, I'm Coming Home' was always something I'd say on the phone to my wife near the end of a tour."

Ozzy gave up drugs and alcohol before recording this song. He credits Sharon for the lifestyle change, and admits he would be dead if he did not turn sober.

I am a pretty big fan of Dream Theater. My favorite albums from them by far are their 1992 debut album Images and Words, and their self titled 2013 album. Their 2019 album Distance Over Time is up there as well.

Some excellent tracks from both albums.

Yes, Images and Words and some of the older albums are the best. I don't like their recent albums though. Too progressive for my taste. Nonetheless, DT is an awesome band.

I actually love this song as well.

Extreme BLACK cum DEATH METAL from Austria !

When it comes to the mix of black metal and death metal, no band is more punishing and unforgiving than ''Belphegor''. While I personally see them more black metal-leaning when taking into account of their general discography, their unique mix of black and death metal is a lot more extreme than your typical blackened death metal band, but also not extreme enough to be in the war metal realms.

While most of their releases are great, none of them have been able to reach the craziness as their debut album "The Last Supper". From the brutal instrumentals to the agonizing vocals, there's just so much to love here.

So Austria's Belphegor is one of those bands that try to mix elements of death , black and thrash metal together, creating some sort of weird hybrid, that sounds like many, but is really none of them.

Speaking of SILVERCHAIR, Frogstomp has always been my most fav album. I think this is the best recording the band produced. They did release 2 more albums as well, and they were also good, but I think Frogstomp is THE best the band has produced, IMHO.

The band was pretty much too young at that time (see pic below), but they still managed to release a classic 'Grunge'-era Album. Talented Aussie trio !

try 4 other albums
Though the last 2 weren't like the first 2 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverchair#Discography

They were only 15 when they released Frogstomp so they grew up in the band and were rejected by their audience when they tried to grow up and change. That would have been hard on Daniel's mental state.

While not my favorite band, I do like some songs from Fear Factory.

Unfortunately the album that includes Human Shields is not available on TIDAL, which is how I typically stream music anymore. I prefer TIDAL Hifi to Spotify.

I too like FEAR FACTORY. Their older albums mostly. This one is a pretty good LIVE recording

Yeah, I know they were very young around 15-18 years old when they released their early days albums. Okay, I will try listening to the last 2 albums as well.

Even I haven't listened to ALL the tracks from "Freak Show", and even "Neon Ballroom" albums properly. I still think the debut album Frogstomp is the best album to date, at least in my opinion.,

Don't know about the local aussie reception the band got in their early days, but in Europe, US and even ASIA they were respected a lot for their talent. Though, It sucks when someone rejects or don't accept you when you want to change and grow up, or have a different new attitude.

You haven't missed anything listening to last album. They changed their style and well... there is a reason there isn't a 6th album. People rejected them.
Young Modern was more mainstream. Not like the 1st few albums.

I don't remember Freakshow, I probably had it but I don't now. I do have the rest though.
