You really need to meet the guy I work with.
My country list is one of his, plus bluegrass, rock, but his favorite is metal. everything he can find, always searching.
I have suggested he look at this thread. Maybe soon. He is not a hardware guy.

Our choices are limited when working in someones home.
We try to listen to things we like, that the owners also accept.
Today was old southern rock.

More of YNGWIE MALMSTEEN.....He has always been my idol and inspiration, after Randy Rhoads . I've met Yngwie personally on several occasions as well
Was he a douchbag ? Just today I was chatting with my vape dealer, and we got in to chatting about guitars, and me explaining Malmsteens scalloped fretboard. Guy said he also met him, and he was a complete knob. Make no mistake, we both think he's brilliant, but I've always argued that we should never meet our heros. TOOL is another band I've been a major fanboy of, since their first EP, but MJK is also a douchebag.

I'm firmly of the belief that artists are to be enjoyed for their art, not their out-of-spotlight personas. I don't enjoy Tool any less, and I don't enjoy Malmsteen any less (although I'm a bit over the music these days, purely as my tastes constantly diversify over the decades). The only metal I really have on high rotation these days is the more "punch in the face" styles...Lamb of God, Pantera, Meshuggah (though Meshuggah STILL confused the heck out of me, so I try to stop myself analysing the time sigs and just let it wash over me)

Lately I've been enjoying the Mexican band "The Warning". Overall, rather mediocre hard rock, but its impresses me a lot when I discover younger generations flying the flag of a genre that's all but dead. At a guess, the trio are all in their early 20s. And not an obvious knockoff of any bands that came before

....unlike that god awful Zeppelin clone/cliche band from a few years ago that never really found their own voice. A shame, because thise young lads were talented muso's, just not very good composers.

Opiate is still one of my favorite albums.

i could never name a specific "genre" that i would consider favorite.
always depends on what we're drinking/consuming, who i'm with, where we're at, maybe my specific mood that day, etc, etc.

off the top of my head at this moment;
The Who,
earlier Faith No More,
Primus,
Traffic,
CCR,
earlier Biohazard,
Suicidal Tendencies,
Pantera,
REM,
The Police,
The Exploited,
Sepultura,
Miles Davis,
The Wailers (with of course Marley),
The Faces,
The Animals,
Goodie MOB,
early Outkast,
Jimi Hendrix Experience/Band of Gypsys,
Joe Cocker,
Led Zeppelin,
Skynyrd,
Allman Bros,
NIN Pretty Hate Machine,
Talking Heads,
The Doors/Morrison poetic solos,
The Heartbreakers,
Van Halen,..the list would go on for many pages

Fade To Black was an awesome album, along with everything up to the self-titled black album.
and even that had at least a few good songs on it.

their Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge set was also awesome.
still love to hear their live Misfits covers on there.

Came home and my wife was rocking out the neighbors.
Doing her pottery on the day room.
She is not easy on the volume knob when the mood hits her , just sspin it to the right and where it stops is good,

Her clubbed to death station, also used when playing hide and go seek in the house with the grand-kids :) .
With the kitchen, dining room and living room systems all cranked up my son says it is disorientating and chest thumping. 1900 watts of pure sound.:smilingimp:
They are all linked for fun and entertaining., so the same thing plays in sync in all three rooms.
