Whea Uncorrectable error

Solution
This is a hardware issue. One piece or more is unstable.

You should run a full suite of stress tests to find the piece/s that have issues.

Programs to use and oreder to use them:
1st: Memtest86+ This program tests the system ram and should always be run first because Ram cans show up as the CPU being the issue. Run this program for 3 full passes before saying ram is stable. IF it is not it will tell you in RED on the lower half of the screen.

2nd: Prime95 run this program for no less than 3 hours but 12 hours is best. This program stresses the CPU and Ram. IF it errors and a core or more stop then the CPU is unstable. Run this on the blend test and with a temp monitoring program.

3rd: Intel Burn test This program also stresses...
It seems your cpu heats up.

install the program "heavyload" ,free stress test tool, and test your cpu at full load and let me the result. use a cpu temprature monitor program. Aida 64 is enough you can install it. if it heats up, do the things I wrote blow.

Check cpu heatsink to sure if it's dusty. Clean it then run heavyload again. if heats up again, replace the thermal paste. then run heavyload again and test cpu.

3rd: Intel Burn test This program also stresses the CPU and Ram but in a different way. Run this on maximum stress for 20 runs and also watch temps.

4th: OCCT use this program only for testing the GPU since its other tests are unreliable. Run the GPU test with error checking enabled. Set shaders to 3 for Nvidia and 7 for AMD. Run this for 1 hour. Do not use the PC while the test is running or it will show a false positive error.

5th: if non of the fore mentioned tests show errors use HDDtune to test the HDD/SSD.

Heavy load is no longer a good program for stress testing since architectures have changed. The fore mentioned CPU stress test programs are much better at finding whether or not the CPU is stable.

IF you are using an Intel CPU you can use HWmonitor for watching the CPU temps. IF you are using an AMD CPU is AMD Overdrive and watch the thermal margin for telling how close the CPU is from over heating.

All these programs are free except HDDtune which I believe has a free trial.

Solution

This friend might not be an experienced user. programs you mentioned are for stability issue. I think because shutting off occurs while playing game the first thing to suspect is overheating, not stability. I try to suggest an easy way to solve a problem. Heavyload is not the best but enough for this kind of issue. your suggestion can take long time to understand the problem even if there is an easy solution.

WHEA means Windows Hardware Error Architecture. This means the Hardware is suffering errors and causing the shut down. Any of the components can cause this error IF it is errors. And On the same lines of overheating, Both Prime95 AND Intel Burn Test will heat the CPU to the point of overheating IF there is a cooling issue So this was also included in step 2 & 3.

Heavyload being a CPU stress test program also relays heavily on the system Ram for its test. What if the system does not overheat but crashes anyways? then your starting off not knowing anything at all but the system still crashes.

I have personally caused WHEA errors by having the CPU's voltage to low or clock to high so to just assume it is an overheating issue IMO is like trying to piss up hill, While it could work you may end up going further backwards before being able to go forwards.
