When booting computer it goes to black screen BEFORE Windows logo

When booting my computer it goes to a black screen after running diagnostics. I think that's what it's called. The screen where it goes through the pre-start stuff that happens when you do a hard shutdown. Anyways it goes to a black screen after without a sound. Attempting to do anything before it transitions off the diagnostics screen results in a glitchy screen like the one here: http://s274.photobucket.com/user/Alanmatt/media/IMG_0075.jpg.html

This happened while I was playing Last Remnant on my PC. The graphics started acting glitchy and when I went to tab out it hardlocked and I had to do a hard shutdown.

Anyone know whats up?

does your computer have integrated graphics? (a place to plug in video on the I/O panel on the back) and are you running off of a video card? if so, switch over to the integrated and boot off that. you graphics card may be going out..

This was the problem. Well that's gonna be a pain until I get a new graphics card. Thanks for the help
