Hi everyone, I want to change out my heat sinkr really badly because my CPU is idle at about 52c and it jumps up to about 65c when under a decent load. But my question is, when do I remove the CPU cooler? last time I removed it I just wanted to rotate it because it was getting in the way of installing RAM. and when I tried to twist it off and pull it the CPU came out with it glued to the heat sink. The CPU is fine, still runs like normal and will OC still. But How do I avoid something like this? P.S. I cant unlatch the CPU too, the heat sink is in the way.

Solution
Release CPU cooler from mounts, unplug CPU cooler fan and run it for few minutes until it worms up good and try twisting it than. If you have replaced paste when you turned it around it should come off easily. It's AMD factory paste that gets badly stuck, most of aftermarket TIM is much better in that respect.

A quick tip to help with that. Start the computer up, let it run for about 15 minutes or so to heat up the cpu and the paste etc. then let it cool for a couple of minutes and try to do the recommended procedure above. Unlatch the cooler, and gently attempt to rotate it back and forth, and it should break loose a little.
