Question when i over clock my core 2 quad it reset to default speed

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

Just, as a general observation, the reset may simply mean that the Core 2 quad may not support whatever overclock speed you attempted to set.

Likely a warning. Whatever "reset" the speed may have saved your hardware.

Be cautious and do not push your luck.

Check the specifications to ensure that you do not exceed some limit where things end badly.
