Hi, i am waiting to buy my new pc because i want to put on it a LE-1660 cpu

when is going to be released?

thanks

PD: sorry for my bad english

but when is going to be released?

1640 can be overclocked to 3300mhz easily, ¿the next 1660 can be overclocked to 3300mhz too if is an X2 Brisbane with disabled core?

^idk about that....

JK, I have no idea frankly... I just wanna see benchmarks for the AMD Bulldozer and Intel Nehalem

i havent seen any AMD overclock EASILY to any speed near 3Ghz.if you actually do look around this forum.there is quite alot people struggling even get to 3Ghz on ANY AMD CPU.

Uhm, theres an AMD cpu that comes 3.2 ghz out of the box. And a lot of AMD's can hit 3 ghz easy.

I have an X2 5400+ on an MSI 790fx that does a little less than 3.2GHz on stock volts. A little volt bumpage will take me past 3.2 .... best $80 I ever spent :bounce:

I put an Opty copper-heatpipe HSF on it and pretty much undervolt at 2.8GHz with CrystalCPU. Idle temps around 23-25c - at load never recall seeing it over 30c (I do however have a side fan in the case panel blowing directly on the cpu & HSF ...)

i never said there isnt any who over 3Ghz.but how many in a 100?i think i shouold have put it "in the overall AMD CPU"

and your chipset is the top AMD chipset.how bout others who on medium chipset like 780 or lower( equal to intel P35)?you can guarranteen they OC 3.2Ghz as well?

Uh, in 100 6000+'s, 100. Lol

780g chipsets normally OC better than the 790fx because of the sb700 - soon to be 'new and improved' with the sb750 (much needed in OCing because of the loopy PLL)

The AMD 770 chipset will give you a nice OC, too, but the sb PLL is holding it back IMHO.

When the sb750 comes out it is hoped (crossing fingers) that even the Phenoms will consistently clock above 3GHz.

Reality is a bitch, ain't it ??? :)

Gill, youve proven many times that you dont have a clue and are just here to bash on Phenom. Give it up, there talking K8 procs here, which have no problem going over 3.0Ghz.

OMG B-UNIT IS HERE I GOTTA RUN.

amd quad oc easily to 3.6 on air like Q6600?i dont think i have seen it.if you can prove it to me on your own phenom i will buy a amd system right now.

deal or no deal?you probably say you dont need to prove anything to me.and people will wonder why is that?(its not possible maybe)<=i neva said that!!!

Back to the matter at hand ...

but when is going to be released?

Everything I can find says LE-1660 this month - probably still trying to clear all the Sempys out of the channel ...

The LE-1660 is popping up on shop-bots but none are listed at retail anywhere I can find. It also is popping up on mobo cpu support lists.

Sorry we can't be anymore help to you. Try to be patient :)

I wouldn't expect the LE-1660 to overclock any better than the LE-1640. Still, it should be an awesome chip for an HTPC or anyone wanting to play all but the latest games on the cheap. I'm still gaming on an Athlon 64 4000+ and it rocks!

You're another intel bandwagon fan, just quit it already, You raised the bar from 3 ghz to 3.6 ghz, for what again? Why are you bringing up C2Ds in a thread about a single core K8?

Good point. Next thing you know he'll be bringing up Prime benchmarks (which we all know favor Intel). Besides, I've got nothing against Intel processors (I've used them plenty of times in the past).
It's just that I've got $87 AMD processor running above 3GHz.
Will the single core LE-1660 run faster than 2.8MHz? Why not? 3GHZ is only 200MHz higher.
However, you may need to increase the voltage of the low watt A64's (to get them to run faster). In that case, why not just buy a 65 watt 5000+BE?

well i simply asking the OC ability of the AMDs.and some of you in here saying AMD owns in OCing which simply is not the case.3.6Ghz is easy on intel so how about amd since you said its capable.

and iggybeans im not asking for numbers.if you know prime is a stabilty ultility which test test the stabilty of an OC.

Gill relax. I have an old Athlon X2 3600+ (Brisbane core) that overclocks from 1.9 to 3.1 GHz. I only bumped the voltage to 1.300V. 😴

Also, please realize that you're the only one getting defensive here, provoking your own war and siding with Intel that no one else here had any intention of doing. We're not here to argue Intel vs AMD. We all know that C2Ds are generally head and shoulders above Athlons and Phenoms. Nevertheless, there are people here with who prefer AMD platforms (and there's nothing wrong with that). Just answer the post question for heaven's sake and stop flaming. 😀

sseyler i appreciate your comment but i never said there is anything wrong in particular in AMD platform.all i comment is that Intel OC better and will offer more performance.

and further proved anything above 3.2Ghz is rarely achievable in the current 2 gen of AMD.and i have use AMD long time ago when P4 just suck big time.but C2D arrive and AMD dont stand a chance, even 2 years down the road until now.otherwise B-Unit and Wisecracker will be bashing about their great OC now!!!
