When should I upgrade?

I have 8 gb Ram
i7 4790k cpu
2 560 ti's in sli.

When should I upgrade my gpu? I wanna play newer games at high/medium settings at a minimum of 100 fps since I have a 144 hz monitor

What gpu should I get?
I recently found on craigslist a Windforce Amd r9 270x for 100 dollars. Should I go for it?

What FPSare you getting at the moment? And how long are you willing to keep playing games at that FPS?

I would personally upgrade now. R9 270x is a great card.

270x is NOT going to push newer games at that framerate, i recently upgraded from mine. Although $100 is a great price for it.

Also id say a good time to upgrade would be in the summer of this year when the new generation of AMD and Nvidia GPUs are releasing.

First thing, what's your budget?
If you're playing at 1080p and wants 100fps around high/medium you'll need a GTX970 or better.
Right now, the GTX 970 can max most new games around 50-60fps. If you want 100fps you'll be sacrificing a few graphical settings to achieve this.

Also, I think the R9 270x is slightly worse than 560 Tis in SLI...

4gb VRAM will help in those higher resolutions. If you really want to game at 1440p though you need at LEAST a 390. Also scour ebay / local Craigslist for possible better offers for lower price.
