Hello guys, so my PC contains a Ryzen 5 1600 and GTX 950. Now before you start a comments war i would like to state that I bought the GTX 950 to be with an FX 6300. At the end of the day, why would i put a GPU that cant support DX12 with a brand new CPU? (so much for not starting a comment war...) So I am simply asking when should i upgrade my GPU? Keep in mind the rest of the year is pretty much out of question for upgrading. Also I was thinking that AMD might be a good pick to upgrade to as FreeSync is much easier to find a monitor for than G-Sync. Also I dont need a 4k killer as I mostly play CS:GO. (And at 1600X1200 cause 4:3 FTW) but I also enjoy titles like Just Cause, GTA, Battlefield, Rainbow Six, and Rising Storm.

Solution
if you want to play modern games at Mid to High settings and 1080p than GTX 950 will good for another 1 or 2 years maximum.
But if you want to play modern games at High resolution and Higher settings than This is the right time for upgrade.
As you have Ryzen R5 1600 You can go for NVIDIA GTX 1070 or AMD RX 480 Or 580.
Your GTX 950 is too weak for For ultra settings and High resolution in today's world.
If you are on tight budget than even GTX 1060 Or AMD RX 470 will handle 1080p gaming at ultra or high settings very smoothly.
Going with GTX 1070 or Rx 480 or 580 will make your rig future proof for next 4 to 5 years.
And the decision is always yours
