When updating GTX 670 video crashes

My screen just goes blank midway through updating and all my displays just turn of and get no signal from my computer. The only way for me to get them back is restart the computer and restore it to an older version.

OS: Win 7 64 bit Home Premium

Current GPU driver: 320.18

Ram: 16gb

Processor: i5-3570k 3.40 ghz

Motherboard: z75 pro3

It goes blank and then never comes back? Usually it blanks out for a minute or so, did you try just leaving it to see what happens?

ive left it for over an hour the first time it did this a while ago and it never came back.

Had a similar problem a while ago, that and the installer just saying 'Failed' on everything. Fixed it by reinstalling Windows, its a farce but easier than messing around with a million things to try and get it to work again.

While you MAY need to reinstall things, have you tried THIS:

1) Remove all NVidia drivers from Add/Remove Programs and shut down.

2) Unhook all but ONE monitor

3) Start up and try to install the latest drivers.

You should also run MEMTEST for your System RAM (DDR3 memory) or at least the Windows Memory Diagnostic. www.memtest.org

Didnt work i also attempted disabling some of the downloads and it downloaded about 1/4 then the screen went black like normal.

In the end i just reinstalled windows and everything worked fine luckily i didnt have to wipe my hard drive!
