Give me a simple guess off the top of your head how long it will before the sb cpus cannot preform well in games anymore.

i still have daggerfall lol loved that game any way, IMO just because a computer plays games doesnt make it a gaming computer, i can throw a new psu and a 4850 in a compaq prestario, its still not a gaming computer lol.

•A gaming computer (also gaming PC and gaming machine) is a personal computer that is capable of playing modern hardcore video games. Gaming computers are very similar to conventional PCs, with the main difference being the addition of a performance-oriented video card and larger amounts of RAM

lol i like the def

I'd say a $800 computer can be a gaming computer. You still can play the latest titles on a HD 4850 at medium.

You don't see these mid-range video cards inside web surfing boxes. They are low end gaming machines, for sane people who don't have that dosh to blow. :).

Right now $800 buys a decent rig:

$125 for a Phenom II X4 925
$100 for mobo
$160 for GTX 460 (beats HD 4850 anyday :) )
$100 for 1.5TB HD
$50 for good PSU
$50 for case
$20 for CD/DVD drive
Those are your main parts already.

lol, ok i get your point and the latest titles, no a 4850 at a good res of 1920x1080 cannot play games like bad compnaey 2, metro 2033, crysis 2 at med settings lol. a gts 450 cant even and it is much better then a 4850, personal exp with a 4870 in bc2 med settings got like 25 fps at that res, mabye 25fps is playable toy uo i need 60 steady, jut my opinion.

forgot the 100$ os and 100$ for 6-8gb of ram lol

I dont think that a dx 9/10 card is bare min anymore i think 5770 or 550ti is bare min for gaming.

And on the cpu side of it all it seems that a 2500k is the only good cpu for gaming right now amd is just not cutting it and i am not a intel fan boy i prefer amd over intel anyday has the 2500k was my first intel cpu and the 2600k is my current but amd just isnt keeping up and from the looks of it it looks like the bulldozer will not be that great for gaming just my opinion.

well i am on a dell gx200 somthing right now with 384 ram and its not working out to well for me lol!

Im going to have to agree with you i guess i have a top of the line gaming pc then since im pushing a gtx 580 watercooled and a 2600k lol.

Yeah, the best stuff is the free stuff. but the real question is when the next gen consoles come out its going to outdate all computer tech pretty much since games are designed for the consoles first.

I do get a kick out of sony they say that only about 50% of its potental is being used but yet they are going to release there new console in a year or to it is all ready moslty devolped. with xbox idk its the closes thing to a computer in a box that you can get.

Its going to be all 3d crap by then lol cant wait..... i love the new psp its 3d epic fail

I love how you say that your sig's specs is not a gaming computer yet it's got a GTX580 in it which is the single most powerful graphics card out there right now, and it's got water cooling. Seriously you as a gamer represent 0.01% of the population of gaming computer owners who just stick with GTX460 and suck it up - there's a realistic limit between $1500 for a nice gaming computer that will play most games at med/high settings well, and a frikkin monster at $2500-$3000 that will never go under 120 fps on highest settings (with your monitor).

In my mind i guess a gaming computer is like a 2600k 4 gtx 580s and a physx card 500gb ssd 32gb of 2000 ram lol. i get what you mean, so my computer is a high end gaming? per say?

The definition is of course subjective but in my opinion what you are describing is not a gaming computer - it's a digital monster. A gaming computer is a computer that can play most if not all of recent games while providing an enjoyable experience. Seems like a much more reasonable definition to me and the 2500k + a GTX560 Ti is already a pretty decent gaming computer according to this definition.

Btw, why not add another three 2600k, so you can play four different instances of Crysis at the same time on max settings @120 fps on your four 73-inch monitors? You'll need a server mobo though.

lol i love you humor, i have "a" 73 inch tv 120hz😉 i get 120fps soild at ultra settings in most games 2500 res lol

other then that i have 1 lg 75hz led mon and i get like 300 fps in some games at high settings.

my computer costed like 2500$ or so

You really have a piss poor attitude. which makes me laugh because you have the same picture as psycosaysdie

😀

i hope i don't get banned for this but you're a ******* retard

Nope you are the one with a bad attitude, you're basically humbling all of us that cannot afford your so-called "high-end" rig that does not qualify as a gaming computer according to your standards. You boast about your 73-inch 120Hz monitor (which probably cost about 3 grand). I can't help it but you're a bragging a**hole. There you have it. Stop bragging about your money and try and be contributive, will you? By saying good for you I just backed out of you trying to impress me with your beast income or whatever.

Sadly you brought up the part about the monitors firs tall i said is i have 1 lol, stay out of my threads.
