When will the Q9450 be released and when can we actually buy it?

Now if that was a Q9550, the Mastercard would have already spoken. :kaola:

If that is true, then Intel is either missing the 1Q launch or doing a very thin paper launch, take your pick. But I expect a lot of them on Apr 1.

Nope, it's only one store that's late.

CompSource.com is selling the Xeon X3350, which seems to be exactly the same as the 9450, and it shows in stock at $353.

I ordered a Xeon X3360, which seems to be the same as the 9550. It's supposed to be delivered today, according to the FedEx tracking site.

If it does come today, I'm going to pop it into my current P5W DH Deluxe MB and see how it works. I've got a pile of new parts in the corner waiting for just a couple of items to come in before I can start on building a new computer.

I want to see screenies when you do. I checked the price on the 3360 and wow that is pricy. I also would like to say that the 9450 is cheaper by my house at microcenter then that site. $349= 9450

Yeah, the X3360 is a little pricy at $602, but you're saying the Microcenter near you is selling the 9450 for $349. That's only $4 cheaper than at CompSource...., and they have it in stock. The X3350 and X3360 are retail boxes with fan and heatsink and three year warranty.

I really would have liked the QX9650, but at ~$1050, it's too much even for me. I barely got the X3360 past the family CFO, my wife. The unlocked multiplier would be nice though.

Very true lets keep this post going , what is the multiplier on that one? I can't fing wait to get the 9450 or the one you have ordered 😛 . I'm just saying I can go pick ity up that's all, no wait :) . I have connections there I can say hold one for me.

Hey all,

Anyone heard anything yet about when the retail version of the q9450 will be released? I really do not understand what the deal is with this. I mean why do they even bother to tell everyone that it will be released if they aren't going to release it? Pretty lame. :pfff:

By the way, for all of you that are thinking about Microcenter: be warned! They have been known to sell parts and then turn around and cancel your order because they ran out of them--- without telling you! :fou: They are getting terrible reviews from everyone! The $10 savings on this and that part is not worth it! Check this out:

I'd stick to the 'Egg for sure. It might be just a little more expensive, but they don't mess around and you get your parts-- and get them on time!

The q9450 is already of on newegg and a lot of other sites. Second, the microcenter offer for the q6600 that we talked about is an in-store offer only. You can only get it if you physically go to the store.

I know that the q9450 is at Newegg, but I was asking about the 'Retail' not the tray version. I want to get the retail version with the warranty🙂. About the Microcenter thing: I just thought I'd point out to everyone that they are known for getting people mad. I guess the brick and mortar store might be better, but on that link I posted there are quite a few people complaining about the actual stores too. Just FYI

Thanks!

I bought one of the OEM Q9450s from Microcenter for $306 including shipping. Now I need a BIOS update for my P5W DH Deluxe so I can run it even at stock, since the vCORE is too low at Auto and too high via manual setting to keep it stable. 2Ghz is stable, so I leave it there.

The few days it ran at 2.66Ghz with no troubles, BOY did it tear through converting to WMV. I can't wait to get back to that...

My Q9450 arrived from Microcenter and it's currently running in my Abit IP35 Pro (Bios v1.1). The sticker must be incorrect 'cause Penryns and Wolfdales aren't supported until Bios v1.2.

Anywaste, the only thing that sucks is that Microcenter has a presence in NYS so I had to pay taxes. Total price $333.
