so the ssd and hard drive only have to be plugged into the power supply, thats the situation im in now, the ssd and HD only connect to the power supply, is that it? they dont connect to the mobo?

those are power cables yes from the power supply to the drives

this is a sata cable, plug one from the motherboard to each drive


check your motherboard box, it should have come with some
