Where does my gpu fan cable go?

I bought this gpu with custom fans on it. It's Accelero Twin Turbo II. It has 2 plugs on it. One 4 pin and one 3 pin. I tried to plug it into the ''Sys_fan" on my PC but it doesn't fit. What do I do? Where am I supposed to plug these in to?

What you need to do (although I think you might not want to do this) is to pull of the cooling unit off of your GPU. This will open up the picture of the GPU board and probably show you where the connection is on the GPU that your looking for. There are several Youtube videos out there that show you how to install your cooler that do show where the connection is being done on the GPU. If you can't find the connection onto the GPU, you will need to remove the cooler (because it isn't doing you much good right now) and find where your connection point is. This connection controls and allows the fans to turn on for the GPU, under whichever conditions that the GPU requests it to do.

It's only one connector so you don't have 3 extra one's hanging all over the place.

Before you buy that, and this isn't explained in what is a very scant manual, is the connector coming from your GPU cooler male or female? Male would mean that it has prongs sticking out, female the opposite. You motherboard has male connectors. Your GPU cooler should have female.

According to the manual, this cooler should have came with a 4-pin fan connector to molex cable. What you're telling me is that you didn't get that nor does the 4 pin connector on the GPU cooler fit the 4 pin on your motherboard?

Please clarify these points.

I dont have the adapter because I didn't put the cooler on it myself. I got the card off ebay and it came like this. And the pin on my mobo seems a bit to big for my female plug. I have to put so much pressure to get it in which doesn't feel right and when I start the PC, the fan on my gpu doesn't work. So I'm sure the only 2 options I have are.. cut the connector and try to connect it on to the gpu. Or buy an adapter and connect it directly to the PSU. Hope tht clears it up

Not only that it has 2 pins, it has like this little brackets around it. Which means I can't fit the female plug it because it's too wide for the brackets. So do I just remove the brackets or.... do I try to cut the female plug to make it fit?

So I'm guessing you should have the adapter cable from either the 3 pin or 4 pin to the Molex connector. If you don't have that adapter then you would need to get one. The 7V connection is so you can have a 55-60% of fan speed and the 12v is if you want 100% fan speed, from what I've read HERE on a single Accelero single cooler.

I guess you could make your own adaptor, but that could be a bit tricky to do.

Unfortunately he said he doesn't have the adapter. I'm not entirely sure these are regular fan connectors either. Usually GPU fans have a different version of the male connectors you see on your motherboard. I think it would be best to contact artic and ask them at this point.

Yeah Arctic should have the connector for a minimal cost and would be the best option, IMHO, if your going to keep the cooler. Obviously it would be the cheapest option, but you can always get a different cooling solution, but it will definitely will cost more.

Just contact them and ask them if their connectors are standard 4-pin fan connectors. They will have no problem providing someone with this information whether they bought one of their products or not. Their forums are also a good place. I just don't want you to buy something here when I cannot tell with the pictures we have nor have I personally handled this cooler before.

How come the guy who sold you the thing didn't give it to you? He had to have used the adapter himself, no point in keeping it.

I have no idea LOL. Maybe he got his new gpu quite a long time ago and barely selling this one so maybe he can't find where he put the adapter. But he told me he plugged it directly onto his mobo though. I dont know how.

I mean, you already tried that so maybe he is confused. I mean, it's not like each motherboard has different 4 pin and 3 pin connectors. They are all the same.

I work on ebay myself and have found that you cannot jump to conclusions when it comes to people. Are there people that lie? Most certainly. Sometimes it's over something they don't even need to lie about like they forgot a piece / Accessory. It's easier to lie than to admit to a mistake. People make mistakes though. Heck, I couldn't even make it through this thread without a misstep and that costed us both time.

On the other hand, when you jump to conclusions about people, you stand to hurt someone who has done nothing wrong and make yourself into something your not. Keep your guard up but don't attack until you see a clear opening.

Yeah I look at recent feedback ratings too (not always indicative of honesty). It is always hard to trust someone on ebay, but if your buying on ebay you have to have a level of trust to a certain degree. I also weigh out the cost factor and decide if it worth it to me to buy from someone I don't know or am I better off buying new from someone that I've done business with for years.

I've never said anything to him. It's just what I feel since this is my first time shopping on ebay. Also there's a few customers of his that said that the item didn't come in as it was described..

Yeah that seems like this seller might be a bit sketchy, especially since others have had similar issues than what you have gone through. I used to buy/sell on ebay, but it has been awhile since I have done business with them. It always seemed like I was paying too much to list items, but that is the nature of their business.

Yeah. You can usually gauge the quality of a seller by their feedback ratings and by looking at their listings. Good sellers are going to have plenty of pictures. If they are selling used items they should be very descriptive of the condition and not just a blanket "like new" or "very good". Lousy sellers can get away with selling low quality used items like this because they did not specifically state where or what the markings are. "like new" and "very good" mean two very different things from person to person and thus releases them of liability.
