Wheres my second hard drive? Windows 8.1

I know it isn't faulty because it shows up under disk management, and in 8 partitions for some reason. Yet it doesn't show up in MyComputer. Do I need to update my sata drivers? I'm using the asrock h81m motherboard. I'm hoping I don't need to update my sata drivers because the asrock website kinda sucks.

Was it from another system?

It seems to be all empty. If you had data on the drive, you have to attempt recovery before going any farther


If you had no data on the drive, it is safe to just remove all those and create a new simple volume in the unallocated space.

I got it off newegg, and it came with nothing but the hard drive itself, so I'll give that a try. If there is anything on it, its not my data.

Since it came with those partitions, I would keep an eye on it for the first while.

Something like CrystalDiskInfo can allow you to monitor the drives health.

Chances are those are left from some kind of tests a new drive undergoes. It is kind of like the iphone that went out with pictures of the a factory worker on it from testing.
