Which AMD processor to upgrade to?

Recently I upgraded my wifes GTX 1050 TI to a 1060. I put the 1050 in an old computer that I let the kids use. It is just some 8 yr old prebuilt HP desktop. It has an AMD phenom II x4 810. I am more of an Intel guy myself and I am not really sure about all the different AMD cpu offerings. What is the best AM3 processor that I could upgrade to?

Putting new processors in prebuilts is a bit more tricky, as you don't know what MB or BIOS or thermal capacity is built in to the system, or, what PSU they used...

Best bet is check for 'compatible processors' on their website, which will allow you to plug in your system details, model number, etc...

Yeah it is some lame Foxconn mobo and I didnt even think of TDP. Thanks!
