Hi.

I'm looking to buy a new GPU, but I'm really confused at these two GPU's. One's a 1070, and the other is a 1060. Although, the 1060 has a better GPU clock than the 1070. How significant is the GPU clock? Does this mean the 1060 is actually more powerful? I've also noticed some other 1060's with extremely similar GPU clocks than other 1070's, with only real difference being the VRAM.

1060:

First off, what's the screen RES of your MONITOR ? There won't be a very huge perf difference between those 2 GPUs though.

The 1070 is the more powerful card by quite a bit, more cuda cores, more shading units, more texture mapping units, etc. Clock speed and VRAM are not the only metrics you should be looking at to determine which card is more powerful. Im not sure about prices in your country but I would look at the 2060 it will outperform both a 1070 and 1060 and should be cheaper as well.

Thank you. How much better do you think this one is than the Zotac 1070?

Do not make graphics buying decisions just on specs.
Engineers pick a blend of specs to produce a card with a target performance in mind.
The GTX1060 6gb does not have as many CUDA cores as the GTX1070.
One way to rank cards is to look at tom's gpu hierarchy chart:
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html
For example, the rating for a GTX1070 is 69.9 and a GTX1060-6gb is 53.2
FWIW, the new GTX1660ti costs less and has a 71.4 rating.

geofelt makes an excellent point.
I recently upgraded from a GTX 1060 3 GB to an MSI GTX 1660 TI Armor 6G OC and the difference is Amazing.
I used to be able to run current games at 1080p set at medium at 60 fps. Now they run at 85 to 120+ fps set on Ultra.
