Hi , I'm currently looking for a new graphics card , because I bought a Radeon R9 380x and it wasn't compatible with my motherboard.
I'm choosing between these cards:
1. GTX 670 2GB
2. R9 280x 3GB
3. GTX 970 ( But I don't know if my PC can handle it)
Rest of my PC:
1. Intel Core i-5 2500 , DH67CL Motherboard , 8GB of RAM and a 600W PSU with two 6 pin cables. Thanks in advance.

your PC can handle any current GPU. it will only have problem to cross 100-120 FPS mark in some games - but that's true for all i5.
GTX 970 is the most powerful card. but unless you can get it for really cheap, you would be better with GTX 1060 3GB (6GB is even better if you can stretch your budget).
as for the first two cards, GTX 1050Ti will outperform them.

😀

600W should be good to handle it depends on its efficiency, what model do you have?

Efficiency doesn't matter, the model PSU does matter though to see if its a quality unit.

what do you think efficiency depends on if not quality of components? also nice that you did not help the OP at all with the post
😉

Don’t want to start anything but one look at your profile and you can see you definitely have more experience then me in the room. Why then would you recommend the 970 over the 1060? I understand this was on his list but the 1060 is better in every way.

Thanks

It's been shown time and again that efficiency ratings and quality are very different things. A poorly made, with poor materials PSU with a good efficiency rating is still a poor PSU.

i dont have personal experience with any of the two bu the Tecnoware look better on paper. if it was me and i had some cash get the 1060 and a new solid PSU

please show me a high efficiency rated PSU that is poor in quality.

thanks

Yes the 1060 is better IMO but to get back to an earlier point - efficiency does NOT equate to quality. Any PSU utilizing a newer design yet implementing the design with inferior quality components is not a good thing. If the OP has a quality PSU, regardless of it's efficiency, his original card should work well for him.

I wouldn't. A 1060 6GB is better. But seeing as OP needs a good PSU aswell, a 970 may be a cheaper option.

Here a relatively poor quality PSU with gold rating:http://pcpartpicker.com/product/g63RsY/evga-power-supply-120g10650xr

Amazing PSU for the price, fully modular aspect is great. Haven't noticed any noise really, so that's definitely a plus.

Working great for my 1 970, would up to 850 if I wanted to SLI.

Great PSU! High quality parts and black sleeved cables are great.

It does what it does. I wish it came with slightly longer cables but that is nothing to really penalize it for. It is good, quiet and fits in with the case. If I decide to get another GPU I might have to toss this into another build.
