3770k at 4.5 GHz gets pretty damn hot. I'd recommend looking at top of the line air coolers like the Silver Arrow or NH-D14 if you can afford them. I'm not sure the Hyper 212 EVO will be able to keep up with the heat of a 3770k at 4.5 GHz at full load.
Definitely not the 612. It is difficult to install, huge, and performs no better than the Hyper 212. I just got the TPC 812 based on reviews and am a bit disappointed. And this is on a 2500k at 4.5 GHz. It replaced my 212 and doesn't do a whole lot better.
I would look at a silver arrow if you think it would fit or an H80 closed loop. Those were my other two choices.
Absolutely do not recommend the H80. It's overpriced, ineffective and loud. Spending the same amount on an air cooler will get you better temps and lower noise.
Closed loops are horrendously overrated, and contrary to popular belief, do not outperform competing air coolers in any area.
The TPC 812 is the best of that bunch, but for 4.5 on 3770K, I suggest, as willard did, a Silver Arrow or a NH-D14. Custom water (NOT closed loop) would be better, but I understand not wanting to go that far.
A Hyper 212 EVO will be the best option then. It's much cheaper and gets the job done.
pretty sure that you have been informed more then once on more then one other thread that this is a horrible recommendation and you still make it. that cooler is not a good one for someone who wants a high overclock with this OP does.
DarkStone82 :
The TPC 812 is a beast. Hard to beat it air cooling wise. Check out

frostytech is not the example of a reliable sit in my opinion. something is wrong when they should that a hyper 212 is only 2 degrees from the nh-d14. it is at least 10-15 degrees behind the nh-d14
well I either want a TPC 812, or a silver arrow. I hope the sa will just about fit in my lan boy air.
Btw people... I got the hyper 212 evo it is the direct contact revision. I have no problems with it, and to behonest I would go for the tpc 812 or the Sa over it... if you want to really OC it is the only way.
if your ambient room temp in the summer is still cool at times because you live in a northern place or cool spot then I may retract my statement and say 212 evo can get you by.. even though..
I did not like the temps and want the 812 or Sa. does anyone know if the 812 will get a revision?
If the silver arrow fits comfortably, I would go for it. It just would have been an awful tight fit in my Fractal Design R3 or I would have gone with it.
Well the evo is good for light overclocking, but as was said if you going to overclock you may want a good one, so say bye bye to coolmaster 212+ or hyper evo.
People need to start some where. I want a CM TPC 812, or a thermalright silver arrow SB-E.
If I were to get better fans what would they be? to bad my gelid silent 12 pwm fans are probably horrible to replace those fans with x2. I mean even if I had silver arrow there may be an issue. I would want to use my akasa five way splitter...
