I'd suggest you review the CPU write-up on the home page ("Best Picks" - CPUs). There is a handy hierarchy chart that is a good start for ranking all the CPUs. Just be sure what you pick is compatible with your motherboard.

Go to eBay, and search for an AMD Phenom II 925. They are 95w quads running 2.8GHz. You will likely find some of the used variety for $40-$50.
