Which Gaming PC? (Ordering tomorrow)

I am seeking some advice. If you could tell me which one of these computers would be better suite for running the latest games on max settings/fps that would be much appreciated.

What is your budget? Getting a nice system without an SSD is a crime.

How many screens are you planning to run (and how big)?

The system in my sig runs BF3 at 1080p on ultra above 60fps and should run you about $1,700 at Cyberpower.

Digital Storm is a higher end company but I've had two CyberPowers with no problems. YMMV. All other things being equal, the CyberPower will destroy the single 680 Digital Storm (tho you are now using twice the electricity, more heat, more noise when a single 670 is effective for the latest games).

Single monitor 1920x1080.

Would you recommend that I just go with the 670 as the SLI would be overkill and would not be much better than the single? If this is the case, would you still recommend the cyberpower over the 680 Digital?

I must be missing something because the two systems are alomst identicle except for the video cards and how can a pc with two 670's be cheaper than a pc with one 680 and a smaller psu?
So I guess my vote goes for the Pc 1 version , even though I question the 30% overclock on the Ivy Bridge cpu. The two GTX 670's will absolutly bury the GTX 680.

I'm leaning towards the CyberPower myself as well.

2xGTX 670 will destroy anything out there, period. Even the GTX 680. All for less than the Digital Storm one.

Thanks everyone for helping me choose! I'll be ordering PC1 from cyberpower tomorrow. I noticed the comment about the 30% overclock on the Ivy Bridge, is this something I should be worried about? Should I go with a lesser OC? Any other recommendations or improvements to my setup?

A 30% overclock just means that it comes with a factory overclock of the CPU to 4.4GHz.

3400MHz x 0.3 = 1020MHz. Add that on top of 3400 and you have 4420MHz.

Which is about the ballpark in terms of Ivy Bridge overclock for 24/7 use.

Thank you for your clarification on the OC. If someone could check out my setup for PC 1 and make sure there are not any changes or upgrades that I need to make before ordering that would be very helpful.

I provided a link to the overclock article from here at TH about the Ivy Bridge being overclocked and there seems to be a heat problem when voltage is added so you might want to consider a 20% overclock or 25% max if you have the option. I would read the article before ordering just so you can get a feel for what you want to do with the overclock.
I really like the two GTX 670's as that will be some gaming rig powerhouse and depending on your budget amount I would also consider a SSD for the boot drive. The SaMSUNG 830 is a very good SSD and I have one for my boot drive and I really do like it.

- Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA
- EVGA Superclocked [+10]

Which one should I select?

Also, I'll be going with 20% OC instead of the 30% I originally posted.

I couldn't help but notice you said you are running a single monitor at 1080p. The 670 sli set up is really quite overkill. The nice thing about sli is you can just get one 670 now, and add another anytime in the future, if you even need it anytime soon.

Why not put the extra money for the second 670 to a nice SSD, I think you'll notice a much better performance boost if you get a nice 240gb SSD for windows and some games that you frequently play.

Sorry - one more thing to consider. You could drop down to one 670, add a 256GB Samsung 830, and still come out ahead. Then, add another 670 a year or two from now after the price drops a little and a game exists that can actually take advantage of that much horsepower.

If they go with a choice of brand name then I would go with Evga , they are a top notch company and I have been using thier cards for quite a few years now. They are also very good with thier warranties and they stand behind thier cards 100%. Good idea on the 20%.
