I’m planning to buy a new graphics card mainly for playing the latest games at 1080p, and also for AI/ML workloads. I’ve built a budget-friendly system and I’m currently torn between these two:
Here’s where I’m conflicted: In AI and ML tasks, the B580 reportedly performs significantly better (up to 100% faster in some tests). That’s making me reconsider the A770, even though I really wanted to own that card.
Another consideration is VRAM. Is 12 GB on the B580 going to be enough for future-proofing, or is the 16 GB on the A770 better for future-proofing?
Price-wise, the B580 costs $390 in my region, while the A770 is available for $350.
So, my questions are as follows:
- Intel Arc B580
- Intel Arc A770 (16GB)
My current specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
- Motherboard: MSI H610M-E DDR4
- RAM: 32 GB DDR4 (16×2) @ 3200 MHz
- Storage: 2 TB WD Blue SN510 NVMe SSD
- PSU: Corsair HXi 750W Platinum

So, my questions are as follows:
- Is the B580’s gaming and ML performance worth the extra $40?
- Will 12 GB VRAM hold up well for future titles and workloads, or should I go for 16 GB?
- Given all the above, which card would you personally choose?
