Hi
I'm looking for a gpu for 1080p high settings and ultra textures. My choices are the Rx 6600-375$ Rx 6600xt-438$ and the Rtx 3060/Rx 6650xt for 469$. Which one is the best option that would last a few years at 1080p? Pros/cons of each? Drivers, vram, game optimization etc.

I’d see if could get a 3060ti or go with the 6600XT, better options then the 6650XT and 3060 (and non XT 6600) in regards to price to performance - From my experience nvidia drivers are better, but both cards will do what you need.

Rtx 3060ti is 644$. Not an option at all. I was planning on getting the plain Rx 6600 but I'd be leaving alot of performance on the table. Rx 6650xt is 469$. If the Rx 6600 is good enough for 1080p then I don't mind.

Oh I see I usually hear performance is bad in games like Skyrim or some other older titles. Rumors maybe?
I think it's a bit hit and miss, but on both sides of the fence they can have issues in games, however modern drivers are mainly to a standard where they will be fine, and to answer your earlier reply, yes I think the 6600 is a decent card. However, i'd personally go for the 6600XT as I think that is 3060 performance, so either of them would be good. Even if it's a little bit more money for the XT or 3060, i'd say it's worth it over the 6600.

Well it would be around 100$ more for the Rx6650xt or 3060.

I should mention that I had a gtx 1660 super last year which I sold and before that I had a gtx 1050ti. Would the Rx 6600 be a worthwhile upgrade? I usually mod Skyrim play a few games and upgrade every 2 years.

I think so. Before the 6600xt I had a 1070. I felt like it was a good upgrade from that. Which is basically the same performance as a 1660 super. I think the 6600 is about 10% slower than the 6600xt, so not a lot of performance loss.

Have a look here. There’s chart that shows the hierarchy from a 1660 super/1070 should be 2-3 steps up to a 6600. It looks like the 6600 is closer to a 2060 super/2070.

Now if you didn’t mind taking a chance, I just purchased an rx 6700xt from eBay. Probably the person was a miner but they had good feedback across thousands of feedback. And they said the card was a manufacturer refurbished card. It sounds like they’d gotten it as a replacement card from msi in this case and they had a return period. So I think for that card it was about 430 US. I know I saw 6600 cards for 250 or so because I considered that option.

Hmmm gpu miners are still trying to milk the situation so second hand GPUs in my country are still expensive. I suppose I could wait awhile and check if a deal comes up.
