GV-N1060WF2OC-3GD GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 3GB GDDR5 192 bit, or GeForce GTX1050 Ti GAMING X 4GB OC GDDR5 128 bit?

i know that 1060 is better then the other but what i'm asking is 1050 TI good enough. I haven't really decided on a budget but I prefer to get it for as cheap as possible. Doesn't have to be one of those 2 cards if you guys recommend something better i'm all for it.

Solution

Yeah the 1050 ti 4gb. There also the RX470/570 if you can get one for a good price. No point going any higher than that with your current specs though.
Motherboard : MSI 970A G-46 AMD
CPU FX X8 8150 Soket AM3+ 3.6GHz 16MB Cache 32nm
PSU Zalman ZM600-GLX 600W 80+
My old Graphic card that died on me was MSI 7950 twin frozer 3GD5 OC 3gb/384bit
Monitor philips 23.6" 247e4lhab/00

I'm looking to ugrade piece by piece I've been using this machine for 3-4 years but right now the most urgent is Graphic Card since it's dead.

What is the diference between the cards? I want to upgrade piece by piece in time.what else do i have to buy for1060 if i want to get the full performance from it.

The difference is quite big, here are userbenchmark results http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-3GB/3649vs3646
If you do buy a 1060, I would recommend a 6GB version, yes it costs a lot more, but those extra 3GB will be important in the future...plus it's actually a more powerful GPU.

You would need to change your entire platform, new Motherboard CPU and RAM (either Intel i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen 5/7).

The 1060 3gb is not a good purchase anyway, the 1060 6gb is much better due to the extra ram and cuda cores.

1050 ti is better than a 7950.

Not sure about that. I tried to find a gaming comparison, but they all seemed to use the 7970, not 7950 vs 1050ti. So I'll have to go from the userbenchmark again, which shows almost no difference, expect the 7950 being quite a bit faster in CSGO....but that's only one games so I really don't know http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-AMD-HD-7950/3649vs2160

I dont recommend this website at all, but at least it shows FPS comparison with Battlefield 4.

Either way, probably not much in it. Not a bad replacement as the 7950 has died.
