Hi
I am trying to decide which GTX 900 series GPU will suit my needs for the next 2-3 years.
I am fine playing in 1080p for the for foreseeable future but I want a constant vysnced 60fps when I play games at high-ultra.

I can play killing floor 2 on high at 60fps with fxaa, fallout 3 on high-ultra (antialiasing any higher than x4 kills my fps), dishonoured maxed, tf2 maxed, The forest High and so on.

So my cpu is perfectly fine as task manager shows the cpu isn't even breaking a sweat, no wonder my pc is so quiet. The my current GPU is very decent but its starting to show that I need a better GPU.

I've been told:
-GTX 960 can basically max any game within reason at 1080p that has been released
-GTX 970 is good for trying out 4K gaming
-GTX 980 is great for 4K gaming

The only games I am interested in playing in the future is Battlefront, Fallout 4 and Dishonoured 2 preferably at high settings at a constant 60fps vysnced.

What is the communities opinion?

Solution
2-3 Years future proof graphics card. In my opinion the 960 is out of this for that reason alone, 970 is gunna be falling behind but it is going to last atleast 2 years. In my opinion creating a futureproof machine you want to be able to keep these settings for any games that get released in the next 2-3 years without having to worry about your card, the 970 will keep up but if you have the funds it is defiantly worth getting a 980 or even a 980ti if you've got the extra cash. Imo the 980ti is going to be running for atleast the next 5 years without any issues.

The 970 is better for 1440p not for trying 4k. A single 980 isn't great for 4k gaming because it can do 4k at mid settings at around 30fps. 4k isn't really playable with single GPU cards of this generation. What resulution are you playing at?

Solution
I would honestly recommend EVGA or an MSI, have installed both on multiple PC's and have had no issues with any of them apart from a faulty MSI out of the box but ill blame that on the reseller. :)
1. EVGA
2. MSI
