So right now I have an i7 4790k CPU that have been saving for my PC build! But some of you guys are saying "why didn't you get the skylake i7 6700k " !
It's for sale right now for $300

But the i7 is more expensive? Why? I was going to sell mine and buy the i7 6700k but I need this to be clear to me first!

Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530
For $300 this weekend

I7 4790k trying to sell it for $250 and add $50 for the -6700k!

Solution
If you have the 4790k, you don't NEED to buy a new one. Well, the 6700 is better, hands down. But better doesn't mean you need to buy it. You are good with the current one, if you have any money to spare, go for any other things in your rig, because changing this CPU would mean a new MOBO(z170) and new RAM(DDR4).
And will I have to buy a different motherboard for the 6700k?

I was going to buy ASRock ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Fatal1ty Z97 Killer LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard For the i7 4790k !!!

I dont think its worth selling to get skylake, the performance difference is minimal to non existent in most games when comparing the 6700k and 4790k at the same clock speed. It may have been a better idea to go with skylake to begin with, but I wouldn't sell it now that you have it you're not going to get all your money back. You would need a z170 motherboard and ddr4 ram for skylake.
