Which is better for me

I want the msi r9 270x 4g, but i was looking at the r9 280x. if i get the 280x 3g would i be able to play at ultra settings. also i have a a10 5800k

get the r9 280X, it has a better gpu.

And overclock your a10 if you can to get rid of any bottleneck.

it has dvi-i and i have a monitor with vga what do i do

V ram does not affect graphics quality. the 280x is more than capable at playing at ultra. all more v ram does is allow you to play on more monitors.

If you have a VGA monitor, get a VGA to DVI connector or get a new monitor.

Some times they do depending on who you buy it from. you can just get one from newegg or amazon or ebay. they are like $3
