Hi,

Is Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 (2.0GHz, 2MB L2-cache, 667 MHz FSB) faster or is Turion X2 RM-72 (2.1 GHz, 1MB L2-cache, 3600MHz FSB) for laptops?
Mainly, I am concerned about video editing/encoding and gaming.

Both laptops are 64-bit Windows Vista.

Thanks.

PS: Sorry if this is a noob question.

The Intel will the MARGINALLY faster in most applications. There is always an exception but i doubt there will be any noticeable difference between the two cpus.

I would choose laptops based upon the other spec's like storage and screen size.

Good luck!

Wait. By marginally, you mean by just a little bit or a lot?

The notable difference (for me) between these two is that:
Turion comes with ATI RADEON HD 3200 graphics RS780M w/ HDMI interface for additional connecting options
Intel comes with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

I'm just concerned that the X3100 will be really bad and not let me play games like Warcraft 4 (when it comes out)

I agree, Intel has a very small gain here for the Core 2 Duo's. Personally, weather it's Intel or AMD, that's not really the point of a Laptop. I would worry more about the video card, Hard drive, and RAM. As of right now you want something with say: 2GHz dual-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 250GB HDD, DVD Burner, and Vista 64bit/32bit. Most laptops will have something like Intel GMA X1300 graphics. If you can get a mobile 8400/8500/9600/9300, that would be a very important aspect. Hope that helps.

So, if I got what you are saying correctly,

1. The Intel and AMD CPUs are about the same speed.
2. The ATI RADEON graphics card is better than the Intel GMA (graphics media accelerator)
3. I should focus more on other laptop features than the CPU.

Right?
