I'm having difficulties finding a cheap mobo for my Phenom build. Mobos are definitely my weakness, I don't know enough about the difference in chipsets to figure out which to buy. I would really appreciate all suggestions and advice.

There are three Phenom II 965 models (two Black Edition and one regular).
CPU part numbers for 140 watt TDP 965 BE (This model is Rev. C2)
HDZ965FBK4DGI is an OEM/tray microprocessor
HDZ965FBGIBOX is a boxed microprocessor

CPU part numbers for 125 watt TDP 965 BE (This model is Rev. C3)
HDZ965FBK4DGM is an OEM/tray microprocessor
HDZ965FBGMBOX is a boxed microprocessor

CPU part number for 125 watt TDP 965 non-BE
CPU part number HDX965FBK4DGM is an OEM/tray microprocessor

The 125 watt TDP Black Edition model is compatible with the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3

That is a Micro-Atx size. For ATX size the AMD 970 models would be cheaper than the 990 series. You can check the CPU Support List for the motherboard on its support site. (under Support and Downloads)
