which one is SB L! V?

I have Sound Balster live! Value and don't understand ... it should support 3d sound, right? suround sound? can't I have 4.1 speakers for it? and which speakers are which? what are 5.1 and 2.1 and 4.1? I currently have 2 surround sound speakers that have "3d surround" botton. Will my sound card work with a system like that(fully?):
4 surround sound speakers
1 subwoofer
1 speaker that goes on the top of the monitor for dialogues in games??? huh???

Yea, it supports all of that good stuff. Mine does. The setup you mentioned is 5.1. I have had 4.1 surround hooked up on mine and it was pretty sweet!! Unfortunently i had to give back the speakers. The speaker that goes on top of the monitor is the center channel.

2.1 = two satellites and one sub
4.1 = four satellites and one sub
5.1 = five satellites and one sub

The value supports 2.1 and 4.1 but NOT 5.1 surround sound.

Like the other guy said, your set up is a 5.1 surround sound and the Live! Value does NOT support that. But 4.1, YES.

If your gonna be playing a lot of game, you really don't need a 5.1 surround sound with that center speaker for dialogues. They are meant for movies and DVDs that support 5.1 surround.

Generally, 4.1 surround will suffice any gamer.
