Which one should i choose?

Hey there everybody im just wondering whats the diefference between the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW+ and MSI GeForce GTX 970 in means of power because if the difference isnt that big im actually going to pick the msi one because its gonna match my pc build better and its almost 50$ cheaper. So im asking you guys and gals which one should i pick. if you want to know the specs of the build just ask.

All of the 970's perform almost identically out of the box. The MSI Gaming 4G is a very good card and also overclocks well if you are interested in that. If it is cheaper and looks better with your components I would get the MSI over the EVGA.

The EVGA card has the higher clock speed, while MSI has the lowest. If you do want it to match, then I would go with MSI.

I have a MSI GTX 970 that matches my build as well.

I'd actually recommend not getting the 970...pick up a 390 instead. It's around the same price, better performance, and more "future compatible".

But i dont know why but i just feel safer using a GeForce product because i havn't made any research for any amd stuff and then ill probably have to remake my whole build

Your build won't have to be any different with a 970 or 390. The 390 is just the smarter option for that price point, and brand doesn't mean anything. I have a 980 Ti and I'm recommending an AMD card...I just know the 390 is the smarter buy, especially because it has over double the effective VRAM.

1. Short answer: You're not going to ever have to worry about VRAM.

Long answer: The 970 has 4GB, but you get major performance drops when using more than 3.5GB of it, so realistically the 390 has over double the usable VRAM. While it's not very frequent games use more than 3.5GB of VRAM, it is becoming more common, especially with the latest AAA titles with high resolution textures. The 8GB will pretty much be there to prevent VRAM from ever becoming a bottleneck to the GPU and will keep the card relevant for a longer period of time than the 970 would.

2. Honestly, power supplies are not something I'm very knowledgeable about, but I think a 650W power supply will do just fine. However, before you purchase I recommend making a post somewhere either on here or reddit.com/r/buildapc to get some other opinions.
