Please dont spam the forum keep it to 1 thread.
I want to buy the parts from as soon as tmrw to max waiting 3 months.

My budget is for ram and CPU and mobo 800 as I will buy a GPU later after that when one comes avaiable

I am going to game heavily on it, over clock the CPU and GPU, stream on it, create videos and want one that will last years.

I am buying a monitor but its on a different budget so it has no effect I will get a 1440p 240hz and pair it with some asus 1080 75hz monitor as a side one

I have a case and a 750w psu so those parts are with me and taken care of, Im not looking to upgrade either unless I have too (Corsiar RM750 and Crosiar 275r Airlfow case)

Any website for parts is ook

I am in Texas and ok with driving for parts (micro center)

I wanna see builds for both amd and Intel please to see which has more performance and which one has better pricing for what I want to do.

Yes I will overlock CPU and GPU

Sli wont be used but can be on mobo for future

One monitor will be 1440p 240hz and the other will be 1080 75hz

Please if you can make a parts list for both amd and intel, I sold my last PC so I am only starting with a case and psu so open to any suggestions. I wanna make sure my build will last the next 5 years and has rgb in it as my case has a windows ! Also I will need an AIO but I am going to get a 240 or 360mm nzxt aio so u can add a beefy CPU to the list.

Last of all THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

there really aren't any 750w GPUs available that can make good use of 1440p @ 240Hz, unless you plan on using lower in-game settings and avoiding Ray Tracing options

you will want to upgrade to at least 850w for ≥RTX 3080 Ti or even 1000w for many of the RX 6900 XT.
I will buy a GPU later after that when one comes available
there are RTX 3000 & RX 6000 series graphics cards available all over now for MSRP.
every few days i see more and more available at the majority of online retailers.
I wanna see builds for both amd and Intel please to see which has more performance
there will be no AMD comparison until their new Zen 4 lineup is released later this year.
the 12th gen Intel Core Alder Lake series is the strongest gaming option available at the moment.

if strictly gaming, their i5 options(12400F / 12600K) blow away all of the previous competition.
if looking for an even stronger option for heavy processing or maybe a few more frames in games, their i7 options(12700K / 12900K) are the crown champion at the moment.
My budget is for ram...and mobo
Intel Core CPUs don't benefit from quad-channel memory so a dual-channel ≥3200MHz low CAS Latency kit is all that's needed.
whether you want flashy heatsinks, certain color schemes, or RGB options is up to you so you're better off shopping for these yourself.

same with your motherboard.
there are so many options available with so many different aesthetic designs it is much better for you to pick out which way you'd like to go with it yourself.
since you plan on overclocking and using it for quite some time i would recommend going for the Z690 chipset.
their lower class B660 options are okay for gaming setups but generally do not handle overclocking as well or have the same class of VRM/PCH heatsinks as the Z690.

the biggest choice in both memory & motherboard is whether you want to go with DDR4 or DDR5 memory.
DDR4 is much cheaper and easier to come by but DDR5 is the new standard and offers some much higher frequencies.

SLI is going out of use with Nvidia giving it the boot on all of its current GPUs except the 3090. Along with certain games no longer supporting it

But like John said, aesthetics are up to you. A good NVME SSD like the Sabrent Rocket will bring quick boot times as well as faster games. 750W is not a lot if you want a "beefy no compromises system" But if you are able to find one anywhere close to MSRP the 3070Ti would be a good option for 1440P gaming. Intel i5s are about 100 less than the i7s and you will never really use 10 cores unless you are streaming, uploading, gaming, rendering in blender, and recording all at the same time. Intel isn't like AMD where it loves faster memory so a good 3200mhz dual channel kit will do, such as a Crucial Ballistix set. I dont like DDR5 due to it being new and I would typically give it a year to work out everything. The 275r comes with no fans, but the AIO will. If you are happy with the AIO most likely having no RGB fans then the Corsair iCue SP120 will be good for you. But if you are not happy with the NZXT AIO not having any RGB then just buy a 3 set of the iCues.

Thats really all I can think of right now.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kp77W4 <---- I would say this is a decent computer

you would see little to no difference.
price comparison would be a bigger factor here for me.
A good NVME SSD like the Sabrent Rocket will bring quick boot times as well as faster games.
average game frame rates are not really affected by the type of disk.
but textures, models, save states and startup load times can be reduced with faster drive technology also resulting in less stuttering and less pop-in during games.

one suggestion i would make in regards to storage;
get separate drives for OS, games, and any backup or personal storage space.

this way the separate data is not affected by other's issue that may arise.
if you've got large amounts of game data you would not want to have to re-download all of this each time you wanted to reinstall or upgrade your OS.
also backing up your OS data becomes much easier when all of that game data is stored elsewhere...
The 275r comes with no fans, but the AIO will...
if you are not happy with the NZXT AIO not having any RGB then just buy a 3 set of the iCues.

and system-wide cooling has a lot more to it than just a radiator with fans.
you need higher air pressure for radiators or heatsinks and there are much better options out there than anything Corsair offers.

plus you need adequate cool air being brought into the system along with adequate warm air exhausted while maintaining a positive air pressure inside the case.
if this case doesn't offer enough ventilation for both you may want to consider getting something with better fan placement options and more airflow available.
post a link to the Corsair product page for this case.

For the case I just listed it for sale as it wont handle what I'm bringing in might go with something from Lian Li. and I was planning on getting a 120gb 980 pro and 970evo plus 1tb for games so os and games are separate. as for ram if intel really doesn't need fast ram then I will prob get something like 32gb for 3200mhz cl14 if I can find it

3200mhz cl16 will do just fine for an Intel build as will 3600 cl18.

So I am wanting to build a gaming and media pc (livestreaming and video production). I aim to game at 1440p 144-240hz and use a 1080p monitor as a 2nd monitor. I didn't include a gpu because I'm prob gonna get a 3070 or 3080 for 1400 max. I've included two ram options because one had timings of 16-18-18-36 and the other 16-20-20-38 and I did not know which was better. This list i made in like 1 hour please feel free to let me know where i can substitute for better parts or change parts that are better for 12th gen intel and ones to last a while and that are good for both gaming and streaming. Thank you very much!

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor ($384.99 @ B&H)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73 73.11 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($169.00 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($249.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($179.95 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($149.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($149.99 @ Amazon)
Case: I have a Corsair 275r that I will use for now along with 6 fans +3 from aio
Total: $1433.90

That AIO will give you a max of 5 to 7 degrees at double the price of a quality air cooler. Not saying you should grab a air cooler but you can probably save some money there, unless you are pushing your OC real hard. But, then you will need a better board too.

Faster RAM with tighter timing can give you some more performance when you need.

For a gaming specific build difference between quality NVME speed is a non factor, really.

There isn't much difference between RMx 2018 vs 2021.

And you save more money for the GPU at no performance loss...

I am building my 2nd gaming rig and Im starting off with no parts so its open market. I want to get feedback to see what should be changed and what shouldnt be change. I do want to game in 1440p and I do want to stream and edit vids as well. I want my rig to last the next up to 5 years with future support for what ever comes out. I do plan to do some oc the ram as I just been introduced to oc ram but for sure gpu and cpu so i would need good vrms and cooling. Please help if you can!

-For the CPU I chose the 12700k because of its performance in gaming and live streaming due to its 24 cores.I used to have a 3700x but it was the best at gaming or editing so i am switching to intel.
-Now for the ram this is the confusing part, I chose 3 because they are all similar. One is 3200mhz at cl16, 3600mhz at cl16, and 3600mhz at cl18. Is the cl18 one worth it cause its the cheapest one and seems like its a solid pick. Unless you have another one u recommend please lmk.
-For the Motherboard I chose the Tuff gaming one as it has good reviews please feel free to change it as I never used intel so idk whats best and bad for what i am trying to do. DDR5 isnt a concern RN because of its price so idk if my mb supports it in the future.
-Storage is straight forward fast 980pro 1tb for gaming and boot. Will get another 1tb in the future.
-I didnt add a gpu as I am going to use the IGPU in the CPU until i can find a good deal on a 3080(ti) or a 3070(ti). I hope it isnt bad to use the cpu I wont game more than minecraft i the mean time to not stress the gpu.
-Case is also straight forward, Lian Li Pc-011 D for cooling and looks, I will have rgb so i want to admire it.
-Power supply is nice imo, 1000w of a new 2021 Corsair Gold psu that should handle the next 5 years and what ever i add on with overclocking.
-Lastly for fans I will use push pull with the AIO in the right side of case and have that as intake, bottom 3 fans of case as intake, and top 3 on top for exhaust, please lmk if this is a bad config for temps.

Pointless. 8 years ago, you could get a 1GHz OC on a 3rd gen i7 with a little luck. Today, Intel and Amd are both pushing speed and performance limits, you'd be lucky to see an extra 100-200MHz on an all core turbo OC. At the cost of a serious amount of power consumption and heat output.

Same applies to gpus, as vendors push limits to get the performance edge over the competition.

You'd be better off leaving a fully stable default bios alone other than Xmp, than trying to push for that extra 5 fps and creating the possibility of instability.

OC if you want to, but there's realistically no tangible benefits anymore, just setting 'performance mode' in bios is enough to destroy normal power limits and let a cpu push itself.

Your psu will handle anything upto a 3070/6700x. If looking for more gpu than that, you'll need 850-1000w or run the risk of blackscreens in the lobby when usage spikes to 100% etc.

Gpu and streaming will depend heavily on what you stream in. If wanting to hit consistant 1080p/120Hz or better or 4k/60Hz, that's going to require a lot more gpu and vram than 1080p/60Hz. If using OBS/x264 instead of NvEnc, you'll not need gpu power, but cpu power.

Thank you for your post, I am thinking of 12600k and a cheap mobo and good 16gb ddr4. This is so I can sell all 3 of them when am5 comes out and ddr5 starts to go down in price. Im also thinking of getting a 3070 or 3060ti so I can have a PC and stream in 1080 and game in 1080 or 1440p

The i7 12700F is going for $300 atm via Antonline. That cpu will mop the floor with the 12600K at 1080P.

Hmm I see the price difference is about 30-40 compared to the 12600k, I am going to sell the mobo and ram and CPU when am5 comes out and gets fixed after a few months so I don't wanna spend to much money, that's why I thought of going with the 12600k, at first I said 5600x but that is so bad compared to the 12600k

I have been told the asus lineup is nice for the lga1700 and is good for overclocking
they do produce some very nice products but their customer support has been severely lacking for the last few years.
also their software for motherboard control and lighting has been horrible for the last year+.

make sure you have a backup dedicated GPU available when going for 'F' series chips.
having that onboard iGPU is always a bonus for easier graphics troubleshooting when necessary.
i've always found the slight price increase for an included iGPU has been worth it.
going to sell the mobo and ram and CPU when am5 comes out
don't get away from yourself yet.
always wait to see real world results before climbing on a boat that's yet to see it's maiden voyage.

I plan to game and stream in 1080p and 1440p. I also plan to use am5 or new intel when they come out depending on their price and performance that's why I chose "lower" tier parts. Like the mobo, ram, and CPU will get traded if the new-gen is better q4 of 2022 and q1 or 2 of 2023. I think my GPU will stick with me cause I can only imagine how hard the RTX 4000 series is gonna be to get and how expensive. Please provide input on my build and if it makes sense. I already have 2 monitors, a mouse, keyboard, and headset so that costs won't be taken into consideration. I chose the rtx3070ti to last me years and to play cod, apex, metro, minecart, far cry, dying light and so on. PLEASE TELL ME IF THE GPU I CHOSE IS GOOD I NEVER USED GIGABYTE !!!!!

Thanks in advance.
