Which processor is better for gaming?

Hello !

I agree with ^. Go with an Intel i7 LGA1155; you'll then have to choose between Sandy-Bridge (32nm) or Ivy Bridge (22nm).
If you've got a big budget, go with an i7 LGA2011 Sandy-Bridge-E.

It's not even close, a dual core i3 is better than the FX8120 in gaming, except maybe for some MMO's and the few multiplayer games that NEED more than 2 cores.

However the i7 has hyperthreading, which does you no good in 99% of games, so you should be looking at a i5, not a i7.

For gaming, you get much better bang/buck with i5 in either 2xxx or 3xxx flavor than anything else on the market. As stated by others, hyperthreading has little or even negative impact on gaming so definitely not worth it if gaming is your only major use.
