Short version: Corsair RM1000x (2024) or the NZXT C1200 ATX 3.1

Long version:
So.. bit of a backstory first.. ive got a PSU in my system ive had for many years.. in fact, it was released 17 years ago, and ive had it so long I dont even know its age but its old! (cooler master 1000w rs-a00-esba)
Ive been having the odd power issue 5-6 years back when I tried to upgrade to a radeon 580 GPU with random shut downs on even mid range games. Solution at the time was to get a r570 which worked and stick with it, until a few weeks ago when that card finally blew. Thankfully I had a backup card in the form of a GeForce RTX 2080 so I didnt have to buy another card.. while I upgraded to that GPU, I also put in another 32Gb DDR4 ram (making 64Gb total) and upgraded the CPU to a AMD 5800x. Basically my pc is about as upgraded it can get for now without replacing the motherboard (currently a MSI x470 gaming carbon pro) and then pretty much everything else.

So, upgraded system running and internet browsing is fine, however on two out of three games ive tried now, im getting system shutdowns with a kernel power 41 issue. The first basic random game which works fine is very light on resources. Hearts of Iron 4 plays mostly, but then when too much is happening, the pc shuts down. World of warships simply wont even load and system shuts down while loading it! All three games though are fairly old and none need that much in the way of hardware power, but im guessing its the psu causing issues when the GPU is trying to draw more power? Heat levels also seem fine that I can tell.

Which leads me to look for a new PSU for this system. Being a fairly oldish and unremarkable system, my power requirements aren't going to be that great (power calculators reckon about 750w), but I was thinking for future proofing, should I look for an ATX 3.1 compliant unit? Or just stay with an ATX 3.0 one maybe?
My current two choices are the Corsair RM1000x (2024) or the NZXT C1200 ATX 3.1, or their older ATX 3.0 units.
Any ideas or suggestions? They seem pretty even but just a different amount of cables.
Its been a long time since ive had to buy a new psu!

Depends on what you want to drop in discrete GPU wise but I'd opt for the NZXT unit if I were in your position and I wanted to drop in something like the RTX5000 series or later down the road. If your RTX2080 doesn't conk out, then you're going to be absolutely fine with a 650W unit, with some headroom.
